He’s been arrested in London.
It all goes back to 2010 when Sweden issued an international warrant against Assange over allegations of sexual harassment and r**e by two women. Assange denied the charges and claimed that the Swedish authorities, in fact, plan to extradite him to the US – where he could face prosecution for espionage.
To save himself from the extradition, he took refuge in the Ecuadorian embassy in London. In 2012, the Ecuadorian government said that it would grant him refuge and he lived there since.
But in July 2018, the Ecuadorian president said he had begun talks with the UK government about withdrawing Assange's asylum status. After withdrawing his status for bad behaviour – on Thursday morning – the police arrested him from the embassy.

On Sunday, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley stated that electoral bonds are aimed at checking the use of black money for funding elections. Referring them to as a ‘legitimate and transparent’ method of political funding, he said that they mask the link between the party and the donor.
Electoral bonds were introduced in the 2017-18 Union Budget, with the objective of increasing transparency in political funding and to prevent black money from entering parties. It was year too when the government reduced the amount of cash donations to Rs. 2,000 (from initial 20,000)
These bonds are a lot like say demand drafts. They are bought by the donors for a particular amount and bear the name of the political party to which the donor wants to contribute to. In order to maintain confidentiality and anonymity, the name of the donor or the company making donation is not mentioned. The bonds are issued by notified banks and can be bought with a cheque or electronic money.

NASA's chief, Jim Bridenstine, on Monday criticised India's anti-satellite missile test (Operation Shakti) as it caused a grave risk to human beings and a test like this was ‘unacceptable’.
The anti-satellite missile test, conducted last week, created at least 400 pieces of orbital debris (space litter, junk or garbage) - placing the International Space Station (ISS) and its astronauts at risk. "That is a terrible, terrible thing to create an event that sends debris at an apogee that goes above the International Space Station," he stated. Reports estimated that the risk to the International Space Station from small debris has risen by 44% in 10 days.
Debris from China's anti-satellite missile launch in 2007, which created 3,000 debris, is yet floating around in space - as per an AFP report.

Facebook is banning any content related to white nationalism and separatism. On Wednesday, the social media giant announced a ban on content that includes “praise, support and representation of white nationalism and separatism”
This significant shift in policy comes months after criticism from civil rights groups. This change will go into effect next week and be applicable to Instagram as well.
Facebook has always prohibited white supremacy, (generally, the belief that whites are superior to other races). But, allowed content related to white nationalism and separatism because the company thought that these ideologies are not always rooted in hate or racism and were different from white supremacy.
But that thinking changed after discussions with civil society groups and race relations experts over the last three months, the company says.
However, while some experts feel that these ideologies are very different, groups like the Southern Poverty Law Center argue that the latter two often express a belief in white supremacy, making them all very similar.

During a BJP's campaign in western Uttar Pradesh, PM Narendra Modi stated his government has shown the courage to conduct a surgical strike in all spheres — land, sky and space.
This comes after India successfully demonstrated an anti-satellite missile capability by shooting down a live satellite, only the fourth country to do so - after Russia, China and the US.
But this operation has garnered a mixed reaction. While some lauded this achievement, some doubted his intentions as it comes just two weeks ahead of the Lok Sabha. Others believe that he stole the limelight from approximately 300 scientists who worked day and night on the operation. “Both Isro and DRDO deserve credit for the achievement and should have been in the limelight. Should the scientists not have announced this?” a ministry official wondered.
“Scientists from Isro-DRDO are supposed to announce their achievements. It’s not a political matter and the credit goes to the Indian scientists. It seems the final call on the Prime Minister’s televised speech was taken by the PMO,” another official said.

The European Union (EU) passed the controversial copyright law - Article 13. This law will hold tech giants (like Facebook and Youtube) responsible for posting material (like articles, videos and images) without the copyright issue.
For example, if you post an image without a copyright license on Facebook, the law will hold Facebook liable for your actions. Not you.
Tech giants have strongly objected to this law as the changes could mean expensive and limit free expression. Creatives on the other hand, support the move as it ensures that they are compensated for the distribution of their work.

Kudos India👏🏻👏🏻
The three-minute mission has made us a super space power.
While announcing this historical achievement, PM Modi clarified that the action was not directed against any country and the satellite which orbiting at a low altitude of 300 km, was a pre-determined target.

After running the iconic airlines for 28 years, Naresh Goyal and his wife Anita Goyal, stepped down from Jet Airways board.
Stiff competition (from airlines like Indigo and SpiceJet), airline pricing wars, weak rupee and high fuel prices are some factors which had left the airlines cash strapped. "For the sake of my family of 22,000 employees and their respective families, I have today taken the step of stepping down from the board of Jet Airways," he states in a letter to his staff.
However, Goyal's aviation career has not been without its share of controversy. Since the early 1990s, there have been reports of his alleged connection with the gangster -Dawood Ibrahim.
