She married two Presidents. Became a First lady in two countries.

There is a woman whose love story feels like legend Graça Machel. The only woman in modern history to marry two Presidents and become First Lady of two different countries.

She first shared her life with Mozambique’s President Samora Machel a love full of purpose and power. But when Samora died in the 1986 plane crash, her world fell silent. A queen was left standing, crown in hand, with no king beside her.

Years later, destiny returned this time in the form of Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela.

Mandela didn’t see a widow to console. He saw a woman who still deserved joy, partnership and sunrise after a long night. With patience, dignity and clarity, he chose her and she allowed her heart to rise again.

When he married her, she became First Lady of South Africa.

Sweden is rewriting the rules of architecture with its first wooden skyscraper, a stunning example of how cities can grow upward while helping the planet. Built using cross-laminated timber, this high-rise structure doesn’t just avoid carbon emissions — it actually stores more carbon than it took to construct.

Sweden's first prominent wooden skyscraper is the Sara Cultural Centre, completed in 2021 in the city of Skellefteå. A newer, all-timber office tower, Fyrtornet, was recently completed in Malmö.

The use of timber drastically reduces the carbon footprint compared to steel and concrete construction. The prefabricated timber parts were even transported from Austria by rail to further cut emissions.

Tuna are among the most remarkable swimmers in the ocean, but their extraordinary abilities come with a vital requirement: they must keep moving constantly. Unlike many fish, tuna lack a swim bladder, an organ that helps maintain buoyancy. Instead, they rely on the constant flow of water over their gills to breathe. If a tuna stops swimming, water no longer passes efficiently over its gills, preventing oxygen absorption and leading to suffocation.

This need for perpetual motion has shaped tuna into one of the ocean’s fastest and most efficient predators. Their streamlined bodies, powerful muscles, and crescent-shaped tails allow them to reach speeds up to 75 kilometers per hour. Continuous swimming also aids in thermoregulation; tuna are partially warm-blooded, allowing them to maintain higher body temperatures than surrounding water, which enhances their hunting efficiency.

Because they cannot afford to stop, tuna spend almost their entire lives in motion, covering vast distances across oceans. This relentless activity makes them highly migratory and crucial for marine ecosystems as top predators. Their constant movement, however, also makes them vulnerable to overfishing, as modern fishing methods can easily track and capture them during migration. Tuna are living symbols of endurance, demonstrating how life in the ocean often depends on motion for survival.

💼 Goldman Sachs is rolling out an internal AI assistant to 10,000 staff for drafting, summarizing, and code translation, with plans to scale across the firm.

Leaders say the end goal is an agentic coworker that behaves like a GS employee rather than a simple chatbot.

The first wave focuses on email summarization, proofreading, and translating code between languages to speed repetitive work.

The AI Agentic can plan a sequence, call tools, and take steps to finish a task on a user’s behalf, not just answer a prompt.

Goldman chief information officer Marco Argenti says the system should learn to check its own work and absorb the firm’s style over time.

The stack is built with vendor models wrapped by internal guardrails and data layers to reduce leakage and keep outputs inside policy.

Peers are moving too, with Morgan Stanley shipping AskResearchGPT and Debrief to auto-summarize research and generate meeting notes.

Analysts expect automation to reshape staffing, with Bloomberg Intelligence projecting up to 200,000 bank jobs at risk as routine tasks get absorbed by AI.

Italian scientists have achieved a groundbreaking milestone by successfully freezing pure light and converting it into a solid for the first time.

Traditionally, light exists as an intangible wave or particle, making its solidification seemingly impossible. However, researchers have managed to manipulate photons-the fundamental particles of light-by confining them within a carefully structured environment at ultra-low temperatures.

Through advanced quantum physics techniques, the scientists controlled and slowed down photon movement, compelling them to behave like a solid object.

A study from the University of Rochester’s Wilmot Cancer Institute links taurine, a common energy drink ingredient, to increased leukemia growth by fueling cancer cells through glycolysis.

Taurine, naturally produced in the body and added to drinks like Red Bull, is shown to accelerate cancer progression in mice via the SLC6A6 gene, which transports taurine to tumors.

The research, published in Nature, suggests taurine may also impact other cancers like colorectal, raising concerns about energy drink consumption.

In Finland, creativity meets sustainability in an unexpected way. Decommissioned airplane wings, once destined for scrap, are now transformed into bus stop roofs, protecting commuters from harsh Nordic weather while adding sculptural elegance to urban landscapes.

This approach exemplifies upcycling at scale. By reusing materials that would otherwise go to waste, cities reduce environmental impact, save costs, and inspire residents with innovative public design. Each bus stop tells a story of aviation history while serving a practical purpose.

The project reflects Finland’s broader focus on eco-conscious urban solutions, where functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability coexist harmoniously. It’s a tangible reminder that even industrial waste can have a second life, benefitting both people and the planet.

This might be the most disturbing AI paper of 2025 ☠️

Scientists just proved that large language models can literally rot their own brains the same way humans get brain rot from scrolling junk content online.

They fed models months of viral Twitter data short, high-engagement posts and watched their cognition collapse:

- Reasoning fell by 23%
- Long-context memory dropped 30%
- Personality tests showed spikes in narcissism & psychopathy

And get this even after retraining on clean, high-quality data, the damage didn’t fully heal.

The representational “rot” persisted.

It’s not just bad data → bad output.
It’s bad data → permanent cognitive drift.

The AI equivalent of doomscrolling is real. And it’s already happening.
