Shockwaves from Space: PSLV-C61 Mission Hits Snag After Epic Sriharikota Launch!"
SRIHARIKOTA: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) experienced a setback with its PSLV-C61 mission, which failed to achieve its intended outcome. The mission encountered technical issues during the third stage of flight, preventing the rocket from placing the Earth observation satellite EOS-09 into orbit.
The launch took place at 5:59 am on Sunday from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, utilizing the PSLV-XL variant—an enhanced version of the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle. This marked the 63rd flight of the PSLV series.
EOS-09, ISRO’s 101st satellite, was the payload for this mission. The PSLV-C61 stood 44.5 meters tall and weighed approximately 321 tonnes at liftoff. ISRO Chairman Dr. V. Narayanan confirmed that the vehicle failed to reach the designated orbit due to complications during the third stage separation.
Further analysis is expected to determine the exact cause of the anomaly. -c61
