🚨 Travel Advisory: Mahabaleshwar, Panchgani & Other Tourist Attractions in Satara Temporarily Closed

The Satara District Administration has announced the temporary closure of all major tourist destinations until further notice due to extremely heavy rainfall and a high alert issued across the Sahyadri mountain ranges. The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure to ensure public safety amid continuous rainfall and increasing risks of landslides and road disruptions.

• Lonavala – 670 mm
• Mulshi (Pune) – 660 mm
• Mahabaleshwar – 513 mm
These are among the highest rainfall figures recorded in Maharashtra, prompting authorities to implement emergency safety measures.

• All tourist attractions in Satara district are closed until further notice.
• Public entry to waterfalls, lakes, riverbanks and other hazardous locations has been prohibited.
• “No Entry” and “Danger Zone” boards are being installed at vulnerable tourist spots.
• Additional police personnel have been deployed to prevent overcrowding and ensure public safety.
• Residents living in landslide-prone areas and unsafe houses are being evacuated where necessary.
• Temporary relief centres have been established in schools, colleges and community halls with arrangements for accommodation, drinking water and medical assistance.
• The administration has appealed to everyone to avoid unnecessary travel on ghat roads during this period.
