Second Parents, First in My Heart
You came not by birth, but by bond so true,
With kindness and warmth, you welcomed me through.
Like roots that hold steady the tallest of trees,
Your wisdom and care bring my spirit to ease.
Youโre not just my in-laws โ that word feels too small,
Youโre my second parents, whoโve given it all.
From stories to laughter, from meals to advice,
Your love wraps my home like a comforting spice.
Youโve raised the one I now call my own,
Taught love, taught strength, in every tone.
And now as grandparents, you shine even more,
A blessing, a treasure I deeply adore.
Let not our hearts wait for silence to speak,
Love must be loud while the moments are meek.
Respect them, care for them, day by day โ
For presence is priceless in every way.
Love your parents while they live beside you,
Show them their value in all that you do.
No grand words matter once voices fall still,
But today โ you can hug them, and always will.
So here is my truth, both simple and bright:
You are my family, my comfort, my light.
Not by blood, but by love, we never shall part โ
Dear second parents, first in my heart.
