Sikkim boy Shaurya Veer Singh Secures AIR 1053 in JEE Advanced 2026, Opens Doors to India’s Top IITs
Gangtok, Sikkim: Bringing laurels to Sikkim and making his family proud, Shaurya Veer Singh, a resident of Tadong Bazaar, Gangtok, has secured an impressive All India Rank (AIR) 1053 in the highly competitive JEE Advanced 2026 examination. With this outstanding achievement, Shaurya has become eligible for admission to several of the country's premier Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), including opportunities in many sought-after engineering branches across top IIT campuses.
Shaurya is the grandson of Shri Ram Pujan Singh, and the son of Shrimati Jyoti Singh and Shri Santosh Singh. His achievement stands as a testament to years of perseverance, academic dedication, and unwavering support from his family and teachers.
He studied from Holy Cross School, Tadong, where he consistently demonstrated academic excellence and developed a strong inclination toward science and mathematics. Later he moved on to Little Angels. Through disciplined preparation and focused effort, Shaurya successfully navigated one of the most challenging engineering entrance examinations in the country.
The year 2026 witnessed record levels of competition in engineering entrance examinations. According to official statistics, over 15.38 lakh unique candidates appeared for JEE Main 2026 across its two sessions, making it one of the largest examinations in the country. Out of these, approximately 2.5 lakh candidates qualified to appear for JEE Advanced 2026**.
JEE Advanced 2026 itself saw 1,79,694 candidates appear for both papers, of whom 56,880 candidates qualified. Securing an AIR of 1053 in such a fiercely competitive environment places Shaurya among the top performers in the nation and highlights the exceptional nature of his accomplishment.
Shaurya had earlier delivered an excellent performance in JEE Main 2026 with 99.888 percentile with NTA declaring him as Sikkim State topper & earning eligibility for JEE Advanced and setting the stage for his remarkable success. His strong showing in both examinations reflects not only academic brilliance but also consistency under pressure.
As the counselling and admission process begins, Shaurya now stands poised to choose from among India's most prestigious engineering institutions.
