It was a pleasure to meet my dear friend and steadfast supporter of the SKM party since 2009, Shri Nor Tshering Lepcha, along with his wife, Smt. Rinzing Ongmu Bhutia, residents of Alley, Namthang.

I was touched to receive a thoughtful gift from them on the occasion and sincerely thank them for this kind and heartfelt gesture.

Such warm moments of friendship and togetherness are truly special and continue to inspire our shared journey towards the progress and prosperity of Sikkim. I wish him and his family continued happiness, good health and prosperity.

Late Janak Kumar Tamang, Retired Headmaster and Founder Member of SKM, Passes Away

Namchi, September 3, 2026: The Namchi community is deeply saddened by the passing of Late Janak Kumar Tamang (69), retired Primary Headmaster of Bhanjyang School and a founder member and dedicated worker of the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM).

Born on August 23, 1957, and a resident of Maniram, Bhanjyang, Late Tamang devoted his life to education, public service and the welfare of the community. His sincere service as a teacher and Headmaster earned him respect among students, colleagues and the people of the area.

He was associated with SKM from its formative days and remained a committed and active party worker. He was also the elder brother of Mr. Himal Tamang, former Zilla Upa-Adhyaksha and Chief Coordinator of Positive Namchi Singithang.

His untimely demise has left a profound void among his family, relatives, friends, former colleagues, political associates and the wider community. His contributions and service will be remembered with respect and gratitude.

The funeral procession and last rites will be held on September 4, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Dechen Cholling Monastery, Alley, Namchi.

The bereaved family has requested everyone to keep the departed soul in their prayers and stand with the family during this difficult time.

May Late Janak Kumar Tamang’s soul rest in eternal peace. 🙏🕊️

𝟬𝟯/𝟬𝟵/𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲: 𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗔𝗡𝗚 𝗬𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗔𝗡𝗚: Under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang-Golay, and guidance of Chief Patron Shri Prabhakar Golay, every possible effort is being made to ensure that people in need receive timely medical support.

15-year-old Miss Seema Limboo, daughter of Keshar Singh Limboo and a resident of Lower Sripatam, 15-Yangang, Rangang Constituency, has been diagnosed with Oral Cancer and has been referred to Manipal Hospital, Delhi, for further treatment.Ward Panchayat Mrs. Dhan Maya Chettri accompanied Seema Limboo to Delhi for her further medical treatment.

Considering the serious medical condition and the financial burden of her treatment, medical assistance of Rs. 7 lakh has been provided with the support of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay).

This assistance will provide significant relief to Seema and her family and help her continue her treatment without the additional burden of financial hardship.

The initiative reflects the commitment of the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) towards ensuring that no one is left without necessary medical care due to financial difficulties.

The medical assistance and coordination for Seema’s treatment were facilitated by Shri Yurba Limboo, GJKP Coordinator, Rangang–Yangang Constituency.

We pray for Seema’s speedy recovery and successful treatment.

Sikkim Ministers Attend Jal Shakti Meeting Held in Presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Hon’ble Minister Shri Sonam Lama and Hon’ble Minister Shri Arun Kumar Upreti attended a high-level meeting on Jal Shakti in the presence of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, Hon’ble Union Minister for Jal Shakti Shri C. R. Patil, and Ministers from various states.
The meeting focused on strengthening water management, conservation and ensuring sustainable water resources across the country. The participation of the Sikkim ministers reflected the state’s continued commitment towards effective water resource management and the vision of a water-secure nation.

Sikkim for Nepal Team after clearing the necessary official process at the Bhansar (Customs) Office in Kakarvitta, Nepal has headed towards flash flood affected areas in Rashuwa which is some 60- 120 kilometers north of Kathmandu.

Pang Lhabsol stands as a profound symbol of the unity, harmony and brotherhood that bind the people of Sikkim. It also commemorates the historic bond of brotherhood between the Lepcha and Bhutia communities, solemnised at Kabi Lungchok. The festival holds a unique place in our cultural heritage as we honour Mount Khangchendzonga, our revered guardian deity and protector of Sikkim.

On this sacred occasion, I offer my prayers to our guardian deity, seeking blessings for lasting peace, harmony and wellbeing, and for continued progress, prosperity and happiness for Sikkim and its people.

May the blessings of Khangchendzonga always guide and protect our beautiful State.
