Mukhya Mantri Jan Shahyog Abhiyan held at Community Hall, Duga under the Vision of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Golay Prem Singh Tamang-Golay
Part of the broader initiative — Sunawlo, Samriddha and Samartha Sikkim
The Mukhya Mantri Jan Shahyog Abhiyan was successfully conducted today at the Community Hall, Duga, Pakyong District. The programme is a vital component of the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Golay Tamang’s visionary initiative — Sunawlo, Samriddha and Samartha Sikkim, which aims to promote public welfare, awareness, and inclusive development across all parts of the state.
The event was held under the chairmanship of Hon’ble MLA Shri L.B. Das and was graced by the presence of Smt. Bindhya Bishwakarma, Chairperson, Cooperative Department; Ld. Advocate Tempo Gyatso Bhutia, President, Legal Cell, SKM; Shri Bhanu Pradhan, OSD to MLA (West Pandam); Shri Sanjeev Khati, President, Rangpo Nagar Panchayat; along with Zilla Panchayat members, Panchayats, government officials, and local residents of West Pandam Constituency.
The programme began with the presentation of objectives by Ld. Advocate Puja Lamichaney, Legal Consultant to the Hon’ble Chief Minister’s Office and Main Coordinator of the Programme, who highlighted that the Mukhya Mantri Jan Shahyog Abhiyan aims to strengthen citizen awareness, promote access to justice, and encourage active participation in state welfare and development initiatives.
The technical session featured a series of insightful and informative presentations by resource persons:
Ld. Advocate Tashi Basi spoke on the POCSO Act, Child Protection Laws, and various State Government welfare schemes, underlining the importance of protecting children and ensuring equal access to legal remedies.
Dr. Rajeev Gurung provided an engaging session on mental health and coping mechanisms, highlighting the importance of emotional well-being and early intervention.
Ms. Sarita Thatal discussed the growing issue of declining fertility rates, analyzing the health, social, and economic factors responsible for the trend.
Ld. Advocate Dr. Kamal Adhikari delivered an informative talk on the Domestic Violence Act, 2005 and Cyber Crime prevention, urging citizens to stay aware and utilize legal safeguards effectively.
An interactive session followed, where the local participants raised various queries related to law, social welfare, and health. The questions were addressed by the resource persons and the Hon’ble MLA, making the discussion both practical and impactful.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by the Hon’ble Panchayat President, expressing gratitude to the Hon’ble MLA, dignitaries, officials, and all participants for their valuable presence and contribution.
The Mukhya Mantri Jan Shahyog Abhiyan continues to carry forward the Hon’ble Chief Minister’s vision of building a Sunawlo, Samriddha and Samartha Sikkim, a state where every citizen is informed, empowered, and actively involved in shaping a just and progressive society.
