Voice NGO organized a cleanliness drive and plantation recheck at Asanthang Helipad and Samboung Monastery, under the Swachh Bharat Aviyan initiative.
The event saw the participation of Shri Bhim Narayan Rai, Vice President of 36 Asanthang GPU, Smt. Prem Maya Tamang, Panchayat Middle Asanthang, and Prominent Young Social worker Mr. Nikheal Chhetri. Other attendees included Ms. Sarsawati Rai, President of VOICE NGO, Mr. Pema Yhaisar Tamang, State Secretary of Press and Publicity for VOICE NGO, Mr. Chandan Rai, Namchi District Coordinator VOICE NGO members of the Samboung United Youth Club, and VOICE NGO members.
The program began by welcoming all participants, followed by the recitation of a pledge, emphasizing their commitment to cleanliness and environmental care. The event was initiated with enthusiasm, focusing on collective efforts to promote a clean and green environment.
The cleanliness drive started at Assangthang Helipad, where participants worked together to clean the area, collecting litter, including plastic and paper waste. The collected garbage was deposited in designated bins and kept aside for proper disposal by the N.M.C.
After the cleanup at the helipad, the group moved on to Samboung Monastery for the plantation recheck. The participants assessed the health of previously planted saplings, ensuring they were well taken care of. They watered the plants and gave attention to those that needed additional care, reinforcing their commitment to fostering green spaces in the area.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all the participants for their dedication and hard work. The presence of community leaders and the active involvement of youth groups contributed to the success of the program. The initiative by VOICE NGO not only promoted cleanliness but also highlighted the importance of environmental stewardship, leaving a positive impact on the community.
