Mr. Tokhan Sahu, Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, visited PM Shri Government Secondary School Assangthang. He was accompanied by Namchi-Singithang MLA Satish Chandra Rai and Assangthang Panchayat Vice President Bhim Narayan Rai. During the visit, the delegation reviewed the school’s development initiatives and interacted with students, encouraging them to pursue academic excellence and active participation in community building.
As part of the visit, the Minister of State was presented with a detailed PowerPoint presentation showcasing the school’s key achievements and ongoing infrastructural improvements. The presentation highlighted the establishment of digital classrooms and an ICT lab aimed at enhancing technological learning among students. The installation of solar panels was noted as a step towards promoting renewable energy use on campus. Improvements in basic amenities, such as upgraded water facilities and the installation of a CCTV surveillance system to ensure a safe and secure environment, were also outlined.
Mr. Sahu appreciated the efforts made by the school management, teachers, and local authorities in uplifting the standard of education and infrastructure. He emphasized the importance of continued investment in educational institutions to prepare future leaders and expressed his satisfaction with the school’s progress under various government initiatives.
