World Environment Day Observation – 6th June 2026

Today, on 6th June 2026, under the aegis of the Heavenly Nirvana Path West Gayzing District Committee, all Blocks under Gayzing District actively participated in observing World Environment Day at LANGANG SMRITI VAN, West Sikkim.
On this occasion, participants planted saplings and carried out a cleanliness and maintenance drive by clearing bushes and weeds around the saplings that had been planted earlier. In addition, saplings were also planted at the District Panchayat Resource Centre compound, Kyongsha, in collaboration with the staff of the Centre. These efforts were undertaken to ensure the healthy growth of the saplings and to preserve the beauty and ecological value of the area.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from members across all Blocks, reflecting our collective commitment to environmental conservation, the protection of nature, and the promotion of a greener, cleaner, and healthier future for generations to come.
We express our sincere appreciation to all participants and the staff of the District Panchayat Resource Centre for their valuable support and cooperation in making this environmental initiative a success.
