JOINT ACTION COMMITTEE OF CHAKMA & HAJONG CBOs HOLDS PRESS BRIEFING IN BIJOYPUR
Bijoypur, Bordumsa | September 10: The Joint Action Committee of Chakma and Hajong Community-Based Organisations (CBOs) of Arunachal Pradesh held a press briefing at Bijoypur-1, Bordumsa, on Thursday.
During the briefing, the committee discussed various issues concerning the Chakma and Hajong communities, particularly in connection with the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
Mahendra Chakma, Chairman, Joint Action Committee of Chakma and Hajong CBOs of Arunachal Pradesh, addressed the media and placed the committee’s concerns, views and perspectives regarding the ongoing developments and issues affecting the two communities.
The briefing comes amid heightened attention surrounding the SIR process in the Bordumsa–Bijoypur area, where administrative and security arrangements have been strengthened as the hearing process continues.
The committee reiterated its position on matters concerning the community and called for due consideration of their concerns during the ongoing process.
