Itanagar 2nd Dec, 2025 โ The Boh Ramo Bokar Adi community of Arunachal Pradesh marked the joyous commencement of the Podi Barbi Festival with a mesmerizing Cultural Night, drawing thousands of locals, cultural troupes, and dignitaries to celebrate the rich agro-religious heritage of the tribe. Organized by the Podi Barbi Festival Celebration Committee Itanagar-2025, the 3 day extravaganza kicked off on 2nd December 2025, highlighting traditional dances, mythology narrations, and calls for cultural preservation amid rapid modernization.
As the chief guest, Founder President of Capital Podi Festival Shri Aling Pinggam, lauded the BRB Adi people as a "pioneering, progressive knowledge-based community." In his keynote address, Pinggam emphasized the tribe's pivotal role in Arunachal Pradesh's socio-economic and cultural advancement, crediting their leadership in education, agriculture, and developmental milestones.
The evening's Cultural Night was a kaleidoscope of Boh Ramo Bokar traditions, featuring the rhythmic narration of Podi Barbi mythology that captivated the audience with tales of agricultural deities and ancestral wisdom. Performances ignited the stage with the traditional Zazinza by the Jyoti Diru Taluk and her team. showcasing synchronized movements symbolizing harmony with nature. Young talents from Shi Yomi while Barbi Taming cultural troupes delivered an authentic BRB dance rendition.
Pinggam also made a heartfelt appeal to the younger generation: "Let us make dedicated efforts to pass our age-old traditions, culture, and languages forward. In preserving our heritage, we build a stronger, self-reliant Arunachal." The event not only reinforced cultural pride but also highlighted the festival's role in promoting unity, with exchanges of meat and apong (rice beer) among participants symbolizing communal goodwill.
