President Boakai Dedicates Police Station, Rest-Stop Center, & Market in Lofa, Applauds Deputy Speaker Fallah as County Caucus Donates 64 Motorbikes to Local Officers
President Joseph Boakai on Monday, July 21, 2025, officially dedicated three key development projects in Lofa County.
The projects are the Beyan’s Town Police Station, the Lofa County Rest-Stop Center, and a Mini-Market, all fully funded by the Office of Liberia’s Deputy Speaker, Hon. Thomas P. Fallah.
Situated at the St. Paul Bridge in Beyan Town, Salayea Administrative District, the three facilities represent a direct response to community needs and are intended to boost public safety, enhance travel convenience, and support local economic activities.
President Boakai, serving as Chief Guest of Honor and Dedicatory Orator, described the projects as "impactful interventions" that directly contribute to the welfare of ordinary citizens.
He commended Deputy Speaker Fallah for demonstrating meaningful leadership by delivering tangible results in his home county.
“These developments are commendable. The police station will strengthen security, the rest-stop center provides convenience for travelers, and the mini-market gives our people an opportunity to do business. I congratulate Hon. Fallah for this exceptional work,” President Boakai said.
The idea of the Lofa County Rest-Stop Center came about in 2021, when Deputy Speaker Fallah was warmly received in Beyan Town during a rainy welcome program that lacked proper shelter for attendees.
Construction of the rest-stop began in January 2025 and was completed within six months.
It includes: A modern rest area to host travelers and welcome events, a mini-market to promote small business and trade, and a fully functioning police post for the Liberia National Police.
In a separate but equally significant gesture, the Lofa County Legislative Caucus donated 64 motorbikes to various local officials and frontline officers to support their daily operations.
The beneficiaries include District Education Officers (DEOs), County Education Officer (CEO), County Superintendents, commissioners, and other government agents working across the county’s districts.
The donation aims to enhance mobility, monitoring, and service delivery in hard-to-reach areas of Lofa County.
The presentation of the motorbikes was witnessed by President Boakai, local authorities, traditional leaders, and community dwellers.
Speaking at the dedication, Deputy Speaker Fallah emphasized that the projects were not politically driven, but a fulfillment of a commitment he made to his people to contribute meaningfully to development.
“This is our home. We must not always wait for government budget lines to act. When we can, we must give back. I am grateful to God for the strength and to the people of Lofa for their support,” Hon. Fallah stated.
