Team Anna to start protest again from Dec 27

NEW DELHI: Team Anna will meet for two days in the second week of December to decide strategy for the proposed indefinite protest announced by Anna Hazare demanding a strong Lokpal Bill. The meeting will be held on December 14 and 15 after Hazare holds a one-day protest in Jantar Mantar on December 11 to protest against the "watered down" report of parliamentary standing committee on Lokpal.

Hazare has already announced that he will sit on an indefinite dharna from December 27 at Ramlila Maidan if Parliament does not pass a strong Lokpal Bill. Team Anna has already approached MCD and Delhi Police for permission.

The Union health ministry and anti-diabetes activists have managed to convince the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to give permission to light up the Taj Mahal to spread awareness against a disease that affects nearly 51 million Indians.

Several other monuments will be lit up in blue to commemorate the World Diabetes Day. These include Old Fort, Red Fort, Qutub Minar and Humayun Tomb in the national Capital.

Diabetes was recognized as a serious threat in 2006 and it became the first non-communicable disease to be recognized as a global threat.

'Over 20,000 wedding took place in the city. 11.11.11 is equated with numbers 3, 6 and 9 which are good numbers to start with anything in Indian numerology, ‘Priests from other cities had to be called in and major traffic jams were reported as over 20,000 couples tied the knot Friday, 11.11.11

Major traffic snarls were also reported at M.G road, G.T. road in north Delhi and various parts of the capital.
