ARTO Poonch Deploys Inspectors to Ensure Transport Support and Fare Regulation Across District

The Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Poonch has taken proactive steps to ensure smooth and fair transport services across the district during the current challenging times. Transport inspectors have been deployed at multiple key locations to monitor vehicle operations, assist the public with transport needs, and ensure that essential travel is not disrupted. Special arrangements are also being made to provide vehicles to people who are in urgent need, including those requiring transportation for medical, family, or emergency reasons.

In light of increased demand for transport, the ARTO has received reports of overcharging by some drivers. To prevent such exploitation, inspectors have been directed to strictly monitor fare rates and check compliance with approved route-wise fares. Strict action will be taken against any driver found charging extra. *ARTO Poonch Issues Stern Warning Against Overcharging Passengers*

Poonch, May 8:
Basharat Mehmood Khawaja, Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Poonch, has issued a stern warning to transporters and commercial vehicle owners against overcharging passengers.

ARTO Khawaja is personally inspecting various locations across the district to monitor fare compliance. During these inspections, he cautioned that any complaint regarding excess fare collection will be met with strict action including cancellation of route permits, suspension of driving licenses, and the lodging of FIRs.
