Bhutanese Consumers Raise Questions About Repair Costs
A customer has claimed that a mobile phone repair quoted by a shop in Gelephu was significantly more expensive than a similar repair later completed at a shop in Dadgari, Assam. According to the customer, the quoted price in Gelephu was Nu. 2,900, while the repair in India reportedly cost ₹130.
If accurate, such large price differences may lead some Bhutanese consumers to choose shopping or repairs across the border. However, prices can vary depending on the repair method, parts used, warranty, labor costs, and the specific condition of the device.
