Didwana to Bithura, Rajasthan, 2025.
A 14-kilometre tricolour procession moved slowly through the roads as villagers lined up to pay their respects.

Sub Lieutenant Anshu Rathore (23), the first woman officer in five generations of her family to join the armed forces, was given a final farewell with full military honours. Her younger brother Bhupesh performed the last rites, and Navy officers handed the national flag to her father, Kishan Singh. Floral tributes were paid as her mortal remains reached her ancestral village. The entire village walked the last one kilometre to the cremation ground.

Anshu died in a tragic road accident near Jamnagar, Gujarat, on Sunday morning while travelling from Pune to INS Valsura for duty. She was commissioned into the Indian Navy in May 2024 after clearing the entrance in her first attempt. A bright and determined officer, she had served in Visakhapatnam and Mumbai, and had recently completed training in Pune. She dreamed of serving the nation further — aspiring to become an IAS or IPS officer and eventually enter politics.

Born into a family with a strong defence background — her grandfather and father both served in the Indian Army — Anshu embodied courage, patriotism, and quiet determination. At just 23, she made the supreme sacrifice while heading to duty.

The entire village mourned the loss of their proud daughter, but stood tall in honour of her service.

Jai Hind. We salute this brave daughter of Rajasthan. đŸĢĄđŸ™

Book Presentation to

Major General P K Mallick (Retd) and Cadet Rahul Singh Parihar presented copies of their books to , .

Major General P K Mallick (Retd) presented his book, ‘Mind Wars: The New Battlefield of Information Warfare’. The book highlights the growing importance of controlling narratives and analyses how state and non-state actors exploit digital platforms to conduct influence campaigns. It also underscores the need for India to develop robust capabilities in information operations and strategic communication.

The book, ‘NCC: The Untold Story’, co-authored by NCC cadets Cadet Rahul Singh Parihar and Cadet Gaurav Mishra, transforms the perceived routine of parades and drills into a compelling narrative of personal sacrifice, unwavering discipline, and silent nation-building through anecdotes and real-life experiences.
