यह न मेरा निष्कर्ष है, न कोई नई बात। जिस कथित हिंदू राजनीति का इतना शोर है, उसके भय, भूख, भक्ति और लूट के बीज न सावरकर की पुस्तकों में मिलते हैं और न स्वतंत्र भारत में सेकुलरवाद तथा इस्लामी आक्रमणों की सबसे तीखी आलोचना करने वाले स्वामी करपात्री, सीताराम गोयल या अरुण शौरी की लेखनी में। स्वामी करपात्री वे दबंग और तात्त्विक चिंतक थे, जिन्होंने 1952 के पहले आम चुनाव में हिंदू कोड बिल और गौहत्या प्रतिबंध को मुद्दा बनाकर पंडित जवाहरलाल नेहरू के विरुद्ध स्वामी प्रभुदत्त ब्रह्मचारी को चुनाव मैदान में उतारा। हालात ऐसे बने कि नेहरू को अपनी सीट बचाने के लिए स्वयं प्रचार करना पड़ा। चुनावी पोस्टरों पर विशेष रूप से “पंडित जवाहरलाल नेहरू” लिखना पड़ा। यही करपात्री पहले राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ पर लगी पाबंदी हटवाने और जेलों में बंद उसके कार्यकर्ताओं की रिहाई के लिए भी सक्रिय रहे।

लेकिन इसके बावजूद वे संघ और गुरु गोलवलकर के कठोर आलोचक थे। कारण क्या था?
