Hello, Friend Welcome to my Page, Today we are going to talk about Tannot Rai Mata Mandir It is the best thing you visit in Jaisalmer. If you are searching Jaisalmer tourist places, tannot Mata temple could be one of them. In this video, I am talking about the History of tanot mata . Here is some shorts introduction of tanot mata temple taken from available sources
The temple's history was mentioned by a temple priest. There was once a man named Mamadia Charan who had no son-daughter,' that is, no child. He made seven trips to Hinglaj Mata on foot in order to obtain a child. When the Hinglaj Mata asked Mamadiya Charan (Gadhvi) whether she wanted a son or a daughter in her dream one night, Charan replied that she should give birth at my residence. Seven daughters and one son were born at that residence by Hinglaj Mata's favor. Aavad Mata, also known as Tanot Mata, was one of them.
In 828 AD, the Bhati Rajput King Tanu Rao built the temple and installed the idol of the reigning deity. For years, the Bhati Rajputs and the residents of Jaisalmer have cherished and venerated the temple.
During the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965, the Pakistan Army bombed Tanot, resulting in 3,000 bombs being dropped on the temple. The explosives, however, either missed their target or did not explode, according to local legend. After the 1965 conflict, the shrine was handed over to India's Border Security Force (BSF), which was in charge of overseeing and maintaining it.
During the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, Tanot was attacked again, but this time the invading tanks were stuck in the sand, allowing the Indian Air Force to destroy them. To commemorate the victory in the Battle of Longewala, the Indian Army built a Vijay Stambha (Victory tower) inside the temple courtyard after the 1971 battle.
