New Chief Minister announced a series of measures shortly after taking oath, including a ₹2,000 crore allocation to improve roads in and plans to address issues related to unauthorised real estate. Referring to properties built without approved plans, Shivakumar said, "Houses have been constructed in Bengaluru without proper planning. There are court orders restricting the provision of electricity and water connections to such properties." He added, "A decision has been taken to issue CC/OC (Completion Certificate/Occupancy Certificate) for 30 to 40 sites. It has also been decided to provide a One-Time Settlement scheme for properties up to 2,500 square feet." He further stated that those who have "already applied, will be given an opportunity to avail themselves of this benefit."

The Chief Minister also unveiled employment and youth-focused initiatives, saying the government would work to open up 50,000 posts in the state. "By the next cabinet meeting we will discuss the process, notification about and release a calendar," he said. Announcing a private employment exchange programme, Shivakumar said, "Karnataka is a human resource capital. No other state has human resources like us. Today, we have taken a big decision. Whoever is searching for jobs in the private sector -- we are bringing up a private employment exchange programme. We will enrol youngsters looking for job and we will ask them what sort of job they need... We will train them and prepare them and ensure they get a job there." He added that "Youngsters from Karnataka who are seeking jobs will be priorities". The government also plans to provide free bus passes for students and launch 10,000 Bharat Jodo Yuvaka Sanghas across the state, with ₹10 lakh support for each unit to encourage youth participation in sports, culture, history and leadership development.

An Instagram video posted by a woman named Satakshi has gone viral, in which she claimed she was pushed and threatened by a man at a gym. According to Satakshi, the incident began when she asked another gym-goer if she could use a machine while he was stretching, to which he agreed. She alleged that a 40-year-old man, who she said was already upset with her over an earlier disagreement, approached her and pushed her during her workout. Satakshi further claimed that the man threatened her and challenged her to meet him outside the gym, prompting her to call the police.

In the video, Satakshi said that when police arrived, the man allegedly tried to leave the premises and later told officers that he had only touched her and asked her not to behave in a certain way, while accusing her of speaking rudely to him. She also alleged that another person blamed her for the incident and accused her of playing the “victim card.” Sharing the video on Instagram, Satakshi captioned it: "Imagine going to the gym to focus on yourself and getting pushed and threatened instead. This man had no reason, no provocation but just aggression. I’ve already reported this to the police. This is not about the gym, such individuals can be found anywhere, and their actions shouldn’t define a place." She added that the police later had the man removed from the gym and expressed hope that he would not return.

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has dismissed allegations regarding its funding, saying the movement operates with minimal financial requirements. Responding to questions over who was backing the movement during a recent press conference in Delhi, party spokespersons said that even a simple ₹200 poster could be funded collectively by supporters. They rejected claims that the group depended on major donors or external financial assistance, arguing that its activities require very limited resources.

The remarks come as the youth-driven movement continues to gain attention ahead of its planned June 6 protest.
