Bernoulli’s theorem/principle, it explains how the pressure, speed, and height of a moving fluid are related.

Bernoulli’s equation
P+
2
1

ρv
2
+ρgh=constant

Where:

P = fluid pressure
ρ (rho) = fluid density
v = fluid velocity
g = gravitational acceleration
h = height
How it works — simple example

Imagine water flowing through a pipe that becomes narrower:

Wide pipe → Narrow pipe

When the pipe becomes narrow, the same amount of water has to pass through a smaller area. Therefore, water speeds up.

According to Bernoulli’s principle:

When fluid speed increases, its static pressure decreases (for the same height and under the usual ideal-flow assumptions).

So:

Wide section:
Slow water → Higher pressure

Narrow section:
Fast water → Lower pressure
