*Save Lidder Valley Alliance Voices Concerns Over Environmental Degradation in Pahalgam*

Pahalgam, December 22, 2025 - The Save Lidder Valley Alliance, a collective of social activists and local leaders, held its maiden press conference today to highlight pressing environmental concerns in Lidder Valley. Speakers criticized unchecked development, land grabbing, and illegal constructions along the Lidder River, threatening sustainable agriculture and the valley's ecosystem.

Mushtaq Pahalgami, prominent social activist, emphasized the alliance's purpose: to address environmental degradation and promote sustainable development in Pahalgam. Sofi Arafat, socio-political activist, warned of potential natural disasters due to unchecked construction, citing examples like Uttarakhand.

Speakers urged authorities to take action against violators and appealed to the Lt Governor and Chief Minister to hold guilty parties accountable. The alliance received support from local leaders, including Adv Showkat Bhat and Pahalgam Bar President Arfat.

The Save Lidder Valley Alliance vows to fight for environmental conservation and preservation of Pahalgam's natural beauty.
