Raid de Himalaya Flags Off Winter Spiti Expedition from Shimla, Testing Man and Machine in Extreme Conditions

Shimla / Spiti Valley, Himachal Pradesh:
Raid de Himalaya Expeditions successfully organised a thrilling Winter Spiti Self-Drive Expedition from 6th to 13th February, bringing together adventure enthusiasts from across India. The expedition was officially flagged off from Shimla, marking the beginning of an intense journey designed to test both man and machine in the harsh winter landscapes of the Himalayas.
A total of 35 participants from different parts of the country, ranging from Kerala to Uttarakhand, took part in the expedition. The convoy consisted of 16 well-equipped 4×4 vehicles prepared to tackle extreme snow conditions, icy mountain roads, and high-altitude terrains of Spiti Valley.

Starting from Shimla, the expedition pushed forward through challenging winter routes, allowing participants to experience real-time snow driving, convoy discipline, and extreme terrain navigation. The journey was not just about adventure but also about endurance teamwork, and precision driving in one of the most demanding winter regions of India.

Raid de Himalaya ensured complete logistical and technical support throughout the expedition. Safety briefings, snow driving training, and convoy management were conducted to ensure smooth and secure travel despite unpredictable weather and road conditions.

Apart from the adrenaline-filled driving experience, participants also witnessed the untouched beauty and rich culture of Spiti Valley. The expedition played a significant role in promoting winter tourism in the region while supporting local homestays, businesses, and service providers during the off-season.

Online Challan System in Palampur Sparks Public Outrage — Allegations of Selective Enforcement

Palampur — Instead of improving traffic discipline, the newly implemented Online Challan system in Palampur has triggered widespread frustration among the public. Residents allege that the police no longer stop vehicles; instead, they secretly take photos from a distance and issue online challans, with no immediate information provided to the driver.
Since the challan notification is sent to the mobile number registered at the time of vehicle purchase, many owners never receive it if their number has changed or is no longer active. As a result, several citizens learn about their challan only when a Court Notice arrives, leading to financial loss, confusion, and unnecessary inconvenience.
People also complain that the police should at least stop the vehicle and inform them of the violation, maintaining transparency. In many cases, officers reportedly click photos while driving and issue challans without any direct communication.
A major concern raised by locals is selective law enforcement. Citizens claim:
“Influential and wealthy local individuals often drive with black mirrors or even without number plates, yet the police do not take any action against them. These rules appear to apply only to common people.”
This alleged double standard has intensified public anger.
Residents have urged the Himachal Police and the government to:
Ensure timely notification of every challan to the vehicle owner.
Replace hidden challans with on-spot information.
Enforce traffic laws equally for everyone, without exceptions.
Make the system fair, transparent, and less burdensome for the general public.

पलमपुर में Online Challan पर बढ़ा विवाद, आम जनता नाराज़ — ‘नियम सिर्फ गरीबों और आम लोगों पर लागू?’

पलमपुर — शहर में Online Challan सिस्टम लागू होने के बाद जहां तकनीक के ज़रिए ट्रैफिक नियंत्रण की उम्मीद थी, वहीं अब लोगों में नाराज़गी बढ़ती जा रही है। नागरिकों का कहना है कि पुलिस बिना रोके, दूर से या छिपकर फोटो लेकर सीधे challan कर देती है, और इसकी सूचना लोगों तक समय पर पहुँच ही नहीं पाती।
चूँकि challan उसी mobile number पर भेजा जाता है जो वाहन खरीदते समय दिया गया था, अगर वह number बंद हो जाए या अब active न हो, तो challan की जानकारी सीधे Court Notice आने पर ही मिलती है। इससे आम जनता को बार-बार दिक्कतों और extra खर्च का सामना करना पड़ रहा है।
लोगों की शिकायत है कि पुलिस पहले जैसे रोककर challan नहीं बताती, जिससे transparency खत्म हो गई है। कुछ मामलों में पुलिस चलती गाड़ी में ही फोटो लेकर challan कर देती है, और यह सिस्टम लोगों के लिए और भी परेशानियाँ खड़ी कर रहा है।
इसके अलावा स्थानीय लोगों ने एक और गंभीर मुद्दा उठाया है। उनका कहना है कि:
“जिनकी पहचान मज़बूत है या जो स्थानीय प्रभावशाली और अमीर लोग हैं, उनकी गाड़ियों को पुलिस कुछ नहीं कहती—चाहे वे black mirrors लगाकर चलें या बिना number plate के ही गाड़ी दौड़ाएँ। नियम सिर्फ आम नागरिकों, छोटे दुकानदारों या सामान्य लोगों पर ही लागू किए जा रहे हैं।”
यह दोहरा मापदंड जनता में नाराज़गी का बड़ा कारण बन रहा है।
लोगों ने सरकार और हिमाचल पुलिस से मांग की है कि:
Challan की सूचना हर वाहन मालिक तक समय पर पहुँचे।
Random और hidden-challan की जगह on-spot information दी जाए।
ट्रैफिक नियमों का पालन सभी पर समान रूप से लागू हो—चाहे आम नागरिक हो या स्थानीय VIP।
आम जनता का समय और पैसा बचाने के लिए सिस्टम को पारदर्शी और न्यायसंगत बनाया जाए।

‎ये किसी फ़िल्म के डायलॉग नहीं बल्कि सुबाथू छावनी हॉस्पिटल के डॉ सिद्धार्थ के कड़वे बोल हैँ|इनकी सभ्य और ऐसी मर्यादित भाषा और दुर्व्यव्हार के चर्चे बड़े पुराने हैँ|मरीज़ और उनके अटैण्डट को लम्बी चौड़ी दवाइयों की लिस्ट पकड़ा कर और टेस्ट करने के लिए उनके महचाहे स्थान पर जाने के किये कहना और ऐसा ना होने पर बेकाबू होकर उनको कहना 2 मिनट में उठवा दूंगा, मानो डॉक्टर नहीं कोई गली का गुंडा हो जिसने गलती से डॉक्टरी कर ली हो|सुबाथू छावनी हस्पताल में इन दिनों 69 रुपऐ का चालान कटता है अगर मरीज़ बस किसी वजह से हस्पताल के बिस्तर में लेट जाए तो इंडोर चार्जेज काटे जाते हैं, अब सवाल ये उठता है की दिन भर में कितने पेशेंट्स आते होंगे और Iv Drip फ्लूड्स के लिए मरीज़ को बिस्तर में लेटना लाज़मी होगा और ज़ाहिर है ये सब कोई भी मरीज़ शौक़ से तो करेगा नहीं| वो तकलीफ़ में होगा और ऐसे मे निर्णय तो डॉक्टर का ही होगा की ड्रिप लगेगी या नहीं|
शनिवार की दोपहर छावनी हस्पताल सुबाथू में ऐसा ही वाक़्या पेश आया एक परिवार के मुख्या को अस्पताल लाया गया तो डॉक्टर कामेशवर को लगा की ऐसे में iv drip लगानी होगी| बस यही बात दूसरे बदज़ुबान और बदतमीज़ डॉक्टर सिद्धार्थ को चुभ गई और उन्होंने स्टॉफ को इशारा किया और कहा इसका चालान काटो |जिसपर मरीज़ के परिवार के सदस्य ने ऑनलाइन पेमेंट कर भी दी साथ ही ये भी पूछा की ये किस बात का चालान है| इस बात पर डॉक्टर सिद्धार्थ बोखला गया और कहने लगा ये हस्पताल है यहाँ वीआईपी ट्रीटमेंन चाहिए तो ये चालान तो कटेगा ही| ये कोई इमरजेंसी नहीं,ये बस मल्टीविटामिन को चढ़ाने के बहाने हैँ| अब डॉक्टर के अनुसार चार्जेज तब लगेंगे जब इमरजेंसी न हो | बात चार्जेज कि नहीं है मगर डॉक्टर सिद्धार्थ को मरीज़ के बारे में जानकारी तक नहीं थी और बिना मरीज़ के रिकॉर्ड को देखे निर्णय ले लिया कि ये सब वी.आई. पी ट्रीटमेंट और मल्टीविटामिनस लेने के तरीक़े है| मतलब जो डॉक्टर इसको परेशानी मान रहे है कुछ नही|

ये बात छावनी अधिशासी अधिकारी को जैसे ही पता चली उन्हीने तुरंत हस्पताल में दस्तक दी और पूरी घटना को समझने के बाद कहा की डॉक्टर का कर्तव्य हर मरीज़ को अच्छे से देखना और अच्छा व्यवहार करना है|ये हस्पताल उन्ही के लिए तो है रही बात चालान की वो मेरी जानकारी में आज ही आया|
‎ पर डॉक्टर सिद्धार्थ भसीन तो उस वक़्त भी तीसरी दुनिया में घूम रहे थे उनका कहना मेरा कोई कुछ नहीं बिगाड़ सकता साफ़ तौर पर उच्च अधिकारीयों के अधिकार क्षेत्र को चुनौती देने जैसा है|ये श्री मान को इमरजेंसी के मायने बस इतने समझ आते हैँ की मरीज़ बेसुध आये| ऐसे महान डॉक्टर्स को साधुवाद|
