Adv. Pratima Coutinho, along with youths from the Navelim Constituency and members of the Rumdamol Panchayat, staged a massive protest at the Margao Police Headquarters demanding the arrest of Bajrang Dal President Viraj Dessai and Gauraksha President Ravindra Bhagwan Redkar.

The protesters later met DYSP Siddant Shirodkar and submitted complaints, urging the police to take immediate action to ensure peace and harmony is maintained in the Navelim Constituency.

Revenue Minister Atanasio (Babush) Monserrate said the government’s lawyers will fight “tooth and nail” in court to prove the legality of the Mhaje Ghar Yojana, while urging eligible beneficiaries to make use of the scheme after the application timeline was extended by another year. Speaking on the Campal football ground issue, he said the matter remains complex as the land belongs to the TCP Department and the facility was constructed by GSUDA. He added that the ground was supposed to be handed over to the CCP, but discussions are still ongoing, and a decision on its future utilisation will be taken once the handover process is completed.

Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho has announced that AI-based surveillance cameras will be installed at 26 key locations across Goa to strengthen traffic monitoring and improve road discipline. The system will help detect violations such as overspeeding and the use of tinted glass, with automatic enforcement action to be initiated against offenders. The initiative aims to reduce road accidents and ensure better compliance with traffic regulations. The decision was taken during the recent Road Safety Council meeting, where officials reviewed accident-prone zones and discussed technology-driven measures to enhance enforcement and public safety.
