👉🏽 Today, a protest procession was held at Dite Dime 65 Bridge by people from various SUMP-affected villages, including Riew, Sitang, Dite, Riga and Parong. The protesters raised slogans opposing the SUMP.
👉🏽 During the protest, the portable toilet units installed just ahead of the 65 Bridge for CAPF personnel deployed on duty were at risk of being damaged by the protesters. However, a discussion took place between the protesters and the Executive Magistrate, following which both sides reached a mutual understanding and the situation remained peaceful.
👉🏽 Subsequently, the portable toilet units were removed in the presence of the protesters, and the situation remained calm.

On 14 September, a Makro Poyup (Monitoring Hut) was constructed in the Ugeng area. Five days later, people from the sump protest-affected villages found that it had been removed/dismantled.
This is the same monitoring hut about which the protesters’ leader had clearly stated at the time of its construction:
👉🏽This is the last warning. If it is dismantled now, no one will be forgiven.
Looking at the photos, the situation appears to have become extremely tense. There is a very high possibility of law-and-order problems arising in the coming days
