Aaj BKMSB ke alumni meet program ka ek bahut hi yaadgaar aur emotional din tha, It was truly a heartfelt reunion filled with nostalgia, joy, and a touch of sadness.
Yeh school 1979 mein established hua, us time Arunachal Pradesh mein bahut prestigious aur renowned mission school tha – especially Gegong Apang ji ke Chief Minister rehne ke dauran. He founded this school with a clear vision: to give quality English medium education to orphan, destitute, and poor children from remote far-flung areas. Ush zamane mein yeh school apne excellent infrastructure, strict discipline, free hostel facility, aur overall high standards ke liye famous tha – it truly changed the lives of thousands of students.

Boum Kakir Mission School (BKMS Boleng) is located in the uphill area of Boleng town, Siang district, Arunachal Pradesh. This was the dream project of former Chief Minister Gegong Apang ji, run under Donyi-Polo B K Mission / Boum Kakir Mission, Itanagar (a registered voluntary organization under Societies Registration Act). In its early days, it was very strong, English medium, co-educational, teaching from Class 1 to 10, with modern teaching methods and extracurricular activities like sports, cultural events, and NSS. The main focus was always on underprivileged and needy children, including free hostel facilities.
Lekin Gegong Apang ji ke CM post se hatne ke baad, school slowly declined. Funding issues, management problems, and infrastructure challenges affected it badly, and the previous shine is no longer there. Today, the school still runs in the name of Boum Kakir Mission, remains CBSE affiliated (Affiliation No. 2220062), and operates under Government Aided / semi-government status, but it is not at the old level – sab kuch dhire-dhire khatam sa ho gaya hai. Still, the school continues, and the bond among alumni remains strong and unbreakable.

Aaj (January 22, 2026) the grand alumni meet was organized by Boum Kakir Mission School Boleng Alumni Association. This was perhaps the first or one of the major reunions after so many years. Old students, teachers, and staff, all came together – the atmosphere was filled with nostalgia, mixed emotions, joy, and a little sadness. Everyone was sharing memories of the golden days, clicking photos, and giving warm hugs.
The biggest highlight was the arrival of Chief Guest Gegong Apang ji, His presence created a very emotional moment because he is the founder and true visionary of the school. Gegong Apang ji addressed everyone – he spoke about the glorious early days when he was CM, shared the journey from 1979, the challenges faced, and the achievements. He recalled those golden times fondly, reminding how the school transformed thousands of lives, especially children from poor or orphan backgrounds. His speech was inspiring yet reflective – alumni gave him a standing ovation, many personally thanked him, and there was also a special gift presentation.
Alumni Speeches: Successful alumni shared their stories – how the school gave them a strong foundation, and today they are doctors, engineers, government officers, businessmen, but they still remember how powerful and special the school was in the past.
Overall, yeh event school ke legacy aur Gegong Apang ji ke vision ki celebration tha, saath hi ek reminder ki school pehle jaisa tha aur ab challenges hain. It touched hearts deeply, emotions were high. Yeh din alumni ke liye proud aur thoughtful moment tha. 😊
