Rashtriya Sevak Sangh celebrated its 100th foundation day. Rashtriya Sevak Sangh Patiala Nagar's Model Town and Tripuri Town subdivision celebrated its 100th foundation day at Bishan Resort, Nabha Road, Patiala.
At the beginning of the program, the officers of the Sangh, Honorable Department Sanghchalak Mr. Baljinder Thakur, Chief Guest: Prof. Dr. Manmohan Singh (Former Professor and Head of Cardiology Department, Government Medical College, Patiala) and the chief speaker Mr. Man Shasank, Punjab Province Student Affairs Chief, performed the ceremonial Sastra Poojan.
On this occasion, the chief guest of the ceremony, Dr. Manmohan Singh, said that due to its good deeds and positive work method, the Sangh has become the second name of patriotism, mutual brotherhood and service in the 100 years of its life. He said that whenever there is a crisis in the country, the Sangh's servants step forward and fulfill their national responsibilities.
Addressing the ceremony, the chief speaker Shri Shasank Ji said that on this day in 1925, Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar Ji had founded the Sangh in Nagpur with some children and today this organization has become the largest non-governmental organization in the world. India can develop holistically only through 'Sava' awareness, environmental protection, civic duty, harmony and ideal family system. He said that for the construction and upliftment of any nation, it is necessary for its citizens to be full of character and patriotic qualities. Sometimes without character, education and knowledge also become fatal. He said that the organization is working for the supreme glory of the nation by taking the methodology of nation building through character building. Mentioning the five changes given by the organization, he said that by following five points like 'self-awareness, environmental protection, civic duty, harmony and ideal family system, we can uplift our country. The organization believes that social harmony is essential for a strong, civilized and inclusive nation. No nation divided on the basis of caste, religion, lineage and gender can achieve the standards of development at the level of national unity, integrity and internal security. The organization considers 'family' as the foundation of Indian culture, values, ideals and rituals. Due to the influence of Western culture and the pressure of modern lifestyle, traditional family values are being eroded. Through family education, we can make our families cautious and forward-looking towards Indian culture, traditions and values. He said that environmental protection is a major global challenge in the modern context and India is also facing environmental problems. Excessive exploitation of natural resources and pollution have caused a lot of damage to the environment which is having a negative impact on human life and future. Therefore, an eco-friendly lifestyle is essential for us. The union official said that economic self-reliance is very important for the development of the nation. Consumerist culture and excessive dependence on imports are very harmful for the Indian economy and Indian culture. Adopting and developing Indian products and our local businesses and motivating Indians to become self-reliant is an integral part of a self-reliant lifestyle. It is necessary to promote campaigns that increase the use of indigenous products, and to try to give new life to traditional skills and industries. Talking about civic duties, he said that for an enlightened and progressive democratic country, it is very important for its citizens to be aware and responsible towards their fundamental duties. A healthy and civil society can be built only by fulfilling duties. Responsibility towards civic duties clearly shows that citizens are aware of their duties and follow their example with honesty. It is very important to vote, pay taxes, protect public property, follow the law and take an active part in social work among civic duties. He said that the organization is going to the middle of the society with a program based on these five changes. Organization officer Baljinder Thakur Ji said, while paying homage to Sir Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji on the upcoming 350th Sacrifice Day, that Guruji gave the message of protecting human rights and human values by sacrificing his life. He gave the message that every religion is respected in the world and no one has the right to oppress others on the basis of religion or force anyone to convert.
The ceremony held in the premises of Bishan Resort Nabha Road Patiala was attended by prominent people of the area, brothers/sisters and volunteers dressed in traditional attire.
