My Recovery Journey – Spinal Cord Injury (C5–C6)
My recovery journey has been one of the most challenging and meaningful experiences of my life. After sustaining a C5–C6 spinal cord injury, my life changed completely in an instant. The road ahead was filled with uncertainty, pain, and countless obstacles, but I made a promise to myself that I would never stop fighting. Every single day has been a new opportunity to rebuild my strength, regain my independence, and move one step closer to my dream of walking again.
Recovery from a spinal cord injury is not measured by days or weeks—it is measured by patience, consistency, and determination. Through daily physiotherapy, balance training, strengthening exercises, standing practice, and endless repetition, I have learned that even the smallest improvement is a victory. There were days when progress felt slow, but I never allowed those moments to define my future. Instead, they became the fuel that kept me moving forward.
This journey has taught me that true strength is not only physical but also mental and emotional. Every exercise I perform, every challenge I overcome, and every milestone I achieve reminds me that recovery is possible with faith, dedication, and perseverance. I continue to believe that one day I will stand on my own feet and walk again, Insha'Allah.
Through sharing my recovery journey, I hope to inspire other spinal cord injury survivors and their families to never lose hope. No matter how difficult the journey becomes, every effort counts, every small step matters, and every new day brings another chance to improve. My story is still being written, and I will continue to fight, recover, and move forward—one step at a time.
