NHM Employees Deprived of Salaries, Appeal for Immediate Resolution of Treasury Issues
Poonch/Mandi : 01 JUN 2026 : National Health Mission Employees Facing Severe Hardship Due to Delay in Salary Disbursement. A large number of employees working under the National Health Mission (NHM) in Jammu & Kashmir are facing serious financial distress, as nearly 85 percent of NHM employees did not receive their salaries before Eid-ul-Adha. While a few districts reportedly received salary disbursements recently, the majority of districts are still awaiting the release of salaries.
Employees stated that nearly two months’ salaries are still pending in many districts, forcing thousands of healthcare workers and their families to celebrate Eid without salaries. The situation has caused immense stress and hardship among NHM staff, who are already working on limited monthly salaries.
According to the employees, the required funds had already been released around 15 days ago, but due to issues related to the “SPARSH / SNA SPARSH”system and delays at the Treasury level, salaries could not be processed in most districts.
Employees expressed disappointment that despite Government directions to ensure salary disbursement before Eid, around 85 percent of employees remained unpaid during the Eid festival.
A senior NHM representative from Block Mandi, Raza Ganai, said that paramedical and healthcare staff continue to serve the public day and night on salaries as low as Rs. 25,000 per month, while simultaneously struggling with bank loans, EMIs, school fees, household expenses, and other financial responsibilities. The repeated delay in salaries is pushing many families into severe economic hardship.
The employees have appealed to the Director General Treasury, Jammu & Kashmir, concerned Treasury officials, and DDOs to immediately resolve the SPARSH-related issues and streamline the salary process so that employees receive their monthly salaries smoothly and on time in the future.
They further stated that NHM employees have always remained dedicated to healthcare services and have worked tirelessly in the interest of the public, but continued delays in salary payments are badly affecting their morale and livelihoods.
In the end, NHM employees urged the Government of Jammu & Kashmir to intervene on humanitarian grounds and ensure the timely release of pending salaries so that healthcare workers can support their families with dignity and continue serving the people without financial stress.
