Meeting with PRINCIPAL of Industrial Training Institute.... Today we raised serious issues affecting students of ITI Dollygunj, particularly those residing in the Girls' and Boys' Hostels.
More than 100 students are facing hardships due to irregular water supply, blocked toilets, poor sanitation, electrical faults, and inadequate hostel maintenance. Clean drinking water and proper hygiene are basic rights, not privileges.
The condition is especially concerning for female students, as lack of water and sanitation facilities directly impacts their health, safety, and dignity.
We have also highlighted the urgent need for alternative water arrangements whenever regular supply is disrupted, ensuring that no student suffers due to water scarcity.
Another serious concern is the non-functional lift facility. A physically challenged student is reportedly being carried by fellow students to upper floors due to the absence of accessible infrastructure. In a developing nation striving for inclusivity, such situations are unacceptable and must be addressed immediately.
Education institutions should provide a safe, hygienic, and accessible environment for every student. We urge the concerned authorities to take prompt action and resolve these issues at the earliest.
