Anushka Sharma joins Virat Kohli as Agilitas investor 💰

The Bollywood actress and entrepreneur has bought a minority stake in sports startup Agilitas. They will collaborate to launch one8 Yoga, a new category focused towards yoga and wellness activewear.

Founded by former Puma India executives Abhishek Ganguly, Atul Bajaj and Amit Prabhu, Agilitas Sports has successfully bagged investments from Virat Kohli and now his wife Anushka Sharma.

Sharma will also collaborate on the design and direction of the activewear, in addition to monetary investment.

America set to bring baseball to India ⚾️

Reliance subsidiary RISE Worldwide has announced a partnership with Major League Baseball (MLB) to promote the growth of baseball in India.

The partnership will entail a live event held in Mumbai, collaborations on marketing and commercial initiatives, and grassroots development.

Noah Garden, Deputy Commissioner, Business & Media, MLB said, “Working with RISE will allow us to introduce the excitement of baseball to even wider audiences while strengthening cultural connections through sport.”

Nikhil Bardia, Head of RISE Worldwide, said, “India is one of the most dynamic sports markets in the world, and baseball’s global rise makes this a natural moment to bring the sport closer to Indian fans.”

Kia India joins hands with Tennis Premier League 🎾🚘🤝

A three-year partnership has been agreed between Tennis Premier League and Kia India. This will see the automobile manufacturer be the exclusive sponsor of TPL.

They will appear on the front of every franchise’s jersey, along with helping in the grassroots development of tennis in India.

Kunal Thakkur, Co-Founder, Tennis Premier League, commented, “Over the last few years, we have focused deeply on building a strong grassroots ecosystem through our app and initiatives like Race to Gold along with our League. Having a global brand like Kia India recognize and back this vision gives us the confidence to scale our efforts and truly impact the future of Indian tennis.”

Ahmedabad will host its fourth IPL final in 5 years 🏟️

The venue was recently changed from the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru to the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

The reasons cited were logistical, operational and political. Local authorities at Chinnaswamy had requirements deemed beyond the scope for the BCCI to provide for.

The Karnataka government denies these requirements and claims the change was made for commercial reasons.

The Narendra Modi Stadium holds a capacity of over 1 lakh spectators as opposed to the 33,000 capacity of the Chinnaswamy. It was claimed that the extra capacity gives the BCCI more of an opportunity to commercialise the IPL finals.

On the other hand, it can be said that such allocation becomes unfair for other cities. The venue reallocation could have gone to Kolkata, Chennai or Mumbai, but Ahmedabad got to host its fourth final in 5 years. Arguments can be made on the systemic dishonouring of the legacy of venues like Eden Gardens, Chepauk or Wankhede.

Chennai set to host BBL opener 🏏🇮🇳🇦🇺

The Big Bash League will host their upcoming 2026/27 season opener at the MA Chidambaram Stadium (Chepauk).

Talks between Cricket Australia, Tamil Nadu Cricket Association and BCCI have been ongoing for the past few months, with the boards approving the event recently.

A five-member team visited Chepauk for CSK’s home game against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday with BCCI President Mithun Manhas also in attendance.

Formula 1 announce official Sim Racing Championship in India 🇮🇳🏎️🎮

In collaboration with Mumbai Falcons, Formula 1 has launched the F1 Sim Racing India Open 2026. The competition will give a massive boost to esports and motorsport in India.

Shreyas Iyer, captain of Mumbai Falcons’ T20 cricket franchise, is the brand ambassador of the competition.

Ameet Gadhoke, Managing Director of Mumbai Falcons Racing Limited said, “We built Mumbai Falcons on the belief that India has world-class sporting talent; the potential, however, has been constrained by structural deficiencies. Partnering with Formula 1 to bring the F1 Sim Racing India Open 2026 to life is another significant step in that direction.”

The championship will be held on F1 25, the official game of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship. It will duplicate real-life circuits and race formats providing an immersive racing experience.

The International Olympic Committee has announced the banking giant as the founding partner of the LA28 Summer Olympics and French Alps Winter Olympics 2030.

JPMorganChase is the first ever bank to be a Worldwide Olympic Partner. They have acquired exclusive rights across Private Banking, Investment Banking, and Asset and Wealth Management.
