A massive protest was held outside the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Monday as residents voiced their anger over the city's ongoing problem of contaminated and irregular water supply. Demonstrators gathered at the PMC headquarters, demanding immediate action against the supply of yellowish, muddy and unsafe drinking water in several parts of Pune. Protesters alleged that the administration's negligence has put public health at risk and increased the threat of water-borne diseases. Following the demonstration, a memorandum was submitted to civic authorities seeking urgent corrective measures, including the restoration of clean and regular water supply, improvements in the distribution network and action against officials responsible for the lapses. The agitation was led by corporators Sh*tal Sawant, Nandani Dhede, Suhas Tingre, Ravi Tingre and former Deputy Mayor Dr. Siddharth Dhende, with large participation from local residents, social activists and representatives of various organizations.
