Massive traffic congestion was witnessed on the Pune-Satara Highway as thousands of commuters returned to the city after the Diwali holidays. Vehicles crawled bumper-to-bumper, with frustrated travelers taking nearly 4 hours to cover just 40 kilometers. The festive return rush caused long queues, slow movement, and heavy bottlenecks at major junctions, leaving commuters exhausted. Authorities urged patience as traffic police worked to ease the gridlock and restore normal flow on this key highway connecting major towns in Maharashtra.

Pune : A shocking financial fraud case has rocked Pune as three members of the Pride Group Niranjan Shah, Nisarg Shah, and Meghna Shah have been accused of duping investor Rajendra Anandrao Patil of ₹37 lakh through a bogus investment scheme.

Patil, a resident of Swapnapurti Apartment, Pimpri, alleged that between December 2022 and October 2023, he invested money with the trio after being promised lucrative returns. While he initially received around ₹7 lakh till September 2023, all payments stopped thereafter. Despite repeated calls, personal visits, and WhatsApp reminders, the Shahs allegedly refused to return the principal or profits.

The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has taken up the investigation under cheating and financial fraud provisions of the IPC. Officials say more victims could surface, as similar schemes run under the Pride Group banner are being probed.

In Pune, the disappearance of ‘No Parking’ signs from several major roads — including J.M. Road, Bajirao Road, Tilak Road, Karve Road, Shivaji Road, and Swargate — has led to widespread confusion and anger among motorists. Despite the missing signboards, traffic police continue to tow vehicles and impose fines, sparking public outrage over what many call “unfair penalties.” The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and traffic police are blaming each other, with officials admitting that many boards were removed during Ganeshotsav festivities and never reinstalled. Citizens argue that penalizing drivers without visible signage violates traffic norms and reflects poor coordination between the two agencies, demanding immediate restoration of all missing boards to restore public trust.

Pune: A State Transport (ST) bus caught fire at the Indapur bus stand late at night, reducing the vehicle to ashes within moments. There were 50 passengers on board at the time of the incident. Fortunately, all passengers had disembarked before the fire broke out, and no injuries were reported.

The bus, bearing registration number MH-20-BL-4233, was traveling from Dharashiv to Pune and had halted at the Indapur bus station around midnight. The fire erupted shortly after it arrived at platform no. 11.

Preliminary reports suggest that the blaze may have been caused by a fuel leak. Authorities are investigating the incident.
