Recently delivered a project of translation & voice over dubbing of few infographic & live action films in Indian languages of Assamese, Marathi and Tamil and South East languages of Burmese, Khmer, Javanese & Sundanese.

Burmese is the language of Myanmar and Khmer of Cambodia respectively while Javanese & Sundanese are spoken in Indonesia.

Translating text for dubbing is itself a meticulous task in these complex languages and needs an experienced translator to do the job well. No matter how the scripts are translated, they need to be adapted to dubbing by the dubbing director mostly on the fly while recording in the studio. When scripts are well adapted, it's job of the voice actors to bring them to life with their voices.

When you follow all these steps carefully, the results are generally good :)

Did a voice over recording job in Maltese. The job required a female story-teller as the script was a story to narrate - Pegasus' Promise: A Tale of Unity and Peace.

Obviously our choice for this job was SarahB Mom as she is an experienced mature Maltese story-teller who is able to modulate voice as is required in a story. As we listen to the recording, her voice acting is noticeable. Hope client likes to listen to the story too :)

So in February 2024, we did voice overs in these languages: Nepali, Bengali, Hindi, Hmong, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Indian English, Urdu, Tongan, Burmese, Telugu, Armenian, Turkish, Serbian, Croatian, Amharic, Somali.

As you can see most of these languages are Asian, primarily from Indian subcontinent. Few are West Asian, then some are Southeast European and some African.

Languages like Tongan & Hmong are considered rare as you have very few voice talents working in them, so you are going to deal mainly with studios from these regions who have contacts with talents and charge exorbitant fees.

Languages like Amharic & Somali are bit hard to handle as you luckily get professional voice talents who deliver good sound quality and make deliveries within deadlines and in your budget.

Had a privilege to record a commercial for UEFA EURO 2024 official store Shop UEFA dot com in Armenian & Kazakh languages.

The recording took place in our partner studios in Yerevan, Armenia & Almaty, Kazakhstan respectively through client directed Zoom sessions. It was an amazing experience to take part in sessions and interact with talents and the client while witnessing the energy and emotions the talents put to bring the scripts to life in takes after takes. Our male voice talents Norayr in Armenian & Nazarov in Kazakh, both premium experienced talents, did a great job. This kind of voice over is something AI is not able to make and we need real human voices to produce that naturality and effects.
