And here's what our own .k came up with. With his flair for visual art and technology, Ashwin has taken to the use of AI like a curious and hungry artist.

We rarely remember our dreams.

Sometimes, we might remember how the dream felt. It can feel so close to one’s ideal life and you feel gutted knowing that it was all a dream.

Foggy dreams, this is the core of a recent film ‘Dhuin’ by Achal Mishra. These dreams make up the imaginary world where Pankaj aspires to be a Bollywood star. Though imaginary, for Pankaj, this world is as real as if it were a town few hundred kilometers from Mumbai.

More than anything else Pankaj wants to get away from the suffering of his mundane life at home in Darbhanga. A home he avoids being in until late at night. Throughout the day, hanging out with his actor friends from Darbhanga and some filmmakers from Mumbai (who feel alien to him), he struggles to decide between ‘to be or not to be’.

‘Dhuin’ is told in a very minimal way and yet, it manages to hold onto our attention for a whole 50 mins. It is an unabashed portrayal of dreams that may or may not see the light of day.

Uncut Gems is a real study in subjective filmmaking.

Once we enter through the gem found in Africa and come out of Howard's colon (yes!), the chaos begins.

This chaos is designed using a constantly moving, tightly framed camera and through anxiety inducing sound and music.

Welcome to the mind of Howard Ratner. A man who's always anxious, always ducking from the chaos he generates and at the same time single mindedly focused on winning that one big bet in his life.

We feel the anxiety he feels and there's no better way of putting an audience in the character's shoes.

If we just heard about him through someone, we would definitely call him 'a scammy, terrible person!'. But with the film made in a subjective way we end up empathizing with him. It even makes us root for him.
