Ineos Grenadier, a capable off-roader, is getting some new insoles. Letech, the German off-road specialist, and Ineos are finally introducing the Grenadier Quartermaster and Trailmaster with portal axles. With over 1000 potential customers registering interest, Ineos has turned this prototype, which was shown to the world last year at the Goodwood FoS, into a production reality at approximately ₹1.7 crore or €170,000.
The Quartermaster and Trailmaster will be available with the same BMW 3.0-litre, turbocharged, straight-six engine in either petrol or diesel guise. With the introduction of the portal-axle, the Grenadier has gained 186mm of ground clearance and now stands at 450mm. Its water wading capability has also improved from 800mm to 1050mm.
