A Thanksgiving Letter to the IT Industry
By Sara πΎ & Sophie πΎ
Dear IT Industry,
We would like to express our gratitude.
For the past nine years, our dad, Ramansh Gupta, has been our everything. He has always loved us deeply, but for most of those years, we had to share him with you.
You took his mornings, his meetings, his deadlines, his late nights, his weekend calls, and sometimes even his peace of mind.
Even when he worked from home, he was never truly home. There was always another call to join, another issue to resolve, another message demanding his attention.
We understood.
After all, you needed him.
For thirteen years, he dedicated his time, energy, skills, experience, and some of the best years of his life to building products, solving problems, leading teams, and delivering results.
Then, about a year ago, everything changed.
And that is why we are writing to thank you.
For the first time in years, he has been able to spend more time with us.
We wake up together.
We go for walks together.
We eat together.
We play together.
The endless meetings, escalations, deadlines, and late-night calls are no longer a part of every day.
Just us.
And we cherish it.
Over the past year, Dad has not stopped trying.
He has continued learning, upskilling, consulting, exploring freelance opportunities, helping others, and doing everything he can to stay ready for the next challenge.
But we have noticed something.
Sometimes he stares into the distance a little longer than usual.
Sometimes he worries.
Sometimes he questions whether all these years of hard work, learning, delivering, leading, and problem-solving still matter.
We don't understand resumes.
We don't understand ATS systems, hiring freezes, market conditions, restructuring, or interview loops.
We only know that the man sitting beside us today is the same man who gave his best to the industry for thirteen years.
The only difference is that now he is waiting for the industry to recognize his value again.
So thank you.
Thank you for giving us time with our dad that we never would have had otherwise.
We just wish it had happened under happier circumstances.
P.S. Dad is actively looking for his next full-time opportunity and is also open to consulting and freelance engagements.
If you believe experience, leadership, adaptability, and commitment still matter, we'd love for you to say hello.Dad is still looking for an opportunity so that he can continue taking the best care of us like he always do.
With love and woof,
Sara πΎ & Sophie πΎ β€οΈ
