As the National Chair of Suraksh*t Naari, it gives me immense pride to share a recent milestone in our journey towards empowering women in the healthcare sector.

We successfully conducted a comprehensive Nurse Safety Training Program at Sahyadri Hospitals in Pune, where more than 35 dedicated nurses participated. The session focused not only on building awareness around personal safety but also equipped them with basic self-defense techniques—giving them the confidence and tools to protect themselves in challenging situations.

This initiative stands as a testament to our continued commitment to safeguarding the caregivers who stand at the frontlines of our healthcare system.

A heartfelt thank you to FSAI Women Chair, Ms. Sarita More, and the Nursing Head of Sahyadri Hospitals, Ms. Sonali Tambe, whose unwavering support and coordination made this training program a meaningful success.

Together, we move forward—stronger, safer, and more united.

On Women in Engineering Day, a memory resurfaces...

Back in engineering college, I was once caught by a professor while bunking a lecture to finish an assignment. Instead of letting it go, he sat beside me in the library and spent an hour explaining why, in his view, girls like me waste an engineering seat.

He said it openly—“You’ll get married, have kids, and end up at kitty parties. If a boy had your seat, he’d build a career and run a household.”

Needless to say, I didn’t finish that assignment.
But I did finish a lot more.

Today, I look back and wish he could see that I didn’t stop at the stereotype. I built a career, became a speaker, lead teams, travel the world, anchor summits, run meaningful campaigns to save environment, and contribute to industries traditionally seen as male domains.

To every young girl choosing engineering—
You belong here.
You are not wasting a seat.
You’re shaping the future.

As the National Chair, Suraksh*t Naari FSAI, Moderating TechVarta #11 on “𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐬: 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐅𝐚𝐫 𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐖𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧’𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲?” was a moment of purpose—an opportunity to channel powerful voices into meaningful dialogue.
As women across industries shared their realities, challenges, and hopes, I had the honour of gently steering the discussion into spaces that are often left unspoken. From law and aviation to hospitality and real estate, each voice brought clarity and courage to the table.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐲—𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲. And through thoughtful questioning and active listening, we were able to uncover insights, provoke thought, and sow seeds for change.
