Extreme Networks says a simpler partner program, pricing stability, strong supply availability, and growing Platform ONE adoption are helping it gain share in networking.

Norman Rice said the company is growing at 14 percent in an 8% to 9% market, with partners playing a central role in that progress. He said the company rearchitected its channel program to make it simple, easy to understand, and dependable for partners.

Rice also said the company created its Deal Registration Price Guarantee to give partners fixed pricing for a period of time during a period of disruption. He said the company has kept pricing consistent while some competitors have seen prices change repeatedly.

Platform ONE adoption has also accelerated, with licensing and incentives designed to help customers and partners move at their own pace.

GDT says its work with roughly 20 neoclouds helped build a strong AI infrastructure business before Softcat announced plans to acquire the company for an enterprise value of $1.05 billion.

Chris Kapusta, vice president of advisory and transformation, said GDT’s 30 years of system integration experience helped it support complex, high-performance infrastructure projects. He also said Nvidia’s financial backing has helped some neocloud customers move AI infrastructure deals forward.

Kapusta said about 25% of the neoclouds GDT works with have received Nvidia equity support. He also noted that a couple of customers are in early discussions around more complex financing arrangements.

The company sees room for more channel activity as neocloud demand for AI compute continues to grow. How do you see neocloud financing shaping future AI infrastructure deals?

Softcat has agreed to acquire U.S.-based GDT in a $1.05 billion enterprise value deal that creates a new global channel powerhouse.

The transaction combines Softcat, a U.K. solution provider with $2.85 billion in revenue and 2,800 employees, with GDT, a Dallas-based solution provider with 900 employees and $1.4 billion in annual revenue.

GDT will keep its name, leadership team, and workforce while operating as a wholly owned Softcat subsidiary. The companies said the move will create a market-leading transatlantic IT solutions platform with expanded global support and deeper technical resources.

Softcat said the deal will be funded through cash on the balance sheet, new debt facilities, and proceeds from an equity placing. The transaction is expected to close no later than the end of Q1 calendar year 2027, subject to regulatory filings and approvals.

Lenovo is rolling out new virtualization solutions and deployment services designed to support partners and customers, whether they are working with VMware or other platforms.

The new offerings include an Intel-powered ThinkAgile VX server for VMware environments, plus pre-validated solutions for Microsoft, Red Hat, Nutanix, and SUSE. Lenovo is also adding deployment service options for customers with different support needs.

The company says the goal is to give partners more choice, simplify modernization projects, and reduce the amount of work needed to assemble and validate systems. Lenovo also says the approach can help channel partners who lost VMware partner status after program changes.

With AI demand still shaping infrastructure priorities, Lenovo is positioning these tools to help customers spend more time on AI and less time on virtualization complexity.

VMware is rolling out new partner incentives, training programs, and channel investments focused on VCF, vSAN, VKS, vDefend, and Avi. The updates are designed to help partners build deeper technical capabilities and support customers through modernization, security, and workload placement decisions.

Key changes include:

Outcome-based incentives that layer on top of existing rebates

Partner service entitlements now available in the commercial segment

A new Partner Technology Council in the Americas

New Challenge Labs and Fast Track training programs

A Knights-only event series, plus more access to internal technical teams

VMware also removed the Knights requirement from Premier Tier and Services Partner requirements, saying the change is intended to improve quality.

The company says partners remain central to its strategy. How do you see these changes affecting partner readiness and delivery?

Broadcom is ending general support for VMware vSphere 8 licenses in October 2027, and VMware leaders say the main goal is to move customers to VMware Cloud Foundation 9.1.

Laura Falko said the top mission is getting customers to 9.1 so they are fully protected against security threats and can receive patches. VMware partners are already reaching out to customers to explain the change and the benefits of the private cloud platform.

Broadcom is also increasing partner funding and incentives to support the transition. That includes profitability for new workloads on VCF, hands-on lab events, and services entitlements that partners can deliver.

SHI International says it is working across its VMware customer base to prevent surprise around the end of support and to keep customers on track.

Google is investing $15 billion in AI infrastructure across Finland to expand Gemini and core services, including Search and Maps.

The plan includes at least three new data centers in Kajaani, Muhos, and Vaala, plus an expansion of the existing Hamina facility. Construction is set to begin in 2027.

The investment will be spent over the next two years on digital infrastructure, clean energy projects, and economic partnerships in Finland. Google said the project is its largest single investment in Europe.

The buildout is expected to support more than 37,000 jobs during construction and around 7,000 jobs once the facilities are operational. Elisa Oyj and Nokia will provide telecommunications and network infrastructure.

Google’s broader 2026 CapEx plan is $205 billion, centered on AI infrastructure and data centers.
