The Pune branch of WIRC of ICAI along with the Pune branch of WICASA of ICAI today inaugurated its two day international conference for CA students which was organized by the Board of Studies , ICAI and hosted by the Pune Branch of WIRC of ICAI and WICASA which began today and witnessed a footfall of over 2500 CA students.

Present at the occasion was Hon'ble HRD Union minister Prakash Javadekar who delivered the keynote speech. He said "It is a pleasure to be invited as the Chief Guest for this event. Being a Commerce graduate myself and having a son who is a CA by profession, this particular course holds a special place for me. I believe this profession can play a vital role in making India corruption free. Modern curriculum and revised syllabus is necessary and should be practiced in every university so that the students are up to date with the current scenario in the field of specialization".

The 11th Pune Region UCMAS Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Competition was recently held at Balewadi. 1520 students from 82 centres across Maharashtra participated in the competition. Children had to solve 200 sums in eight minutes which they do at speeds far greater than a calculator.
