Tata Motors Achieves Record Q1 FY2027 Performance Driven by 183% Surge in EV Volume

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles sustained its strong growth trajectory in June 2026, delivering 63,083 total units—a 69% year-on-year increase over June 2025 (37,237 units). Domestic wholesale volumes rose 67% to 62,076 units, supplemented by a significant acceleration in exports to 1,007 units (up from 154 units). The quarter concluded with total Q1 FY2027 sales reaching 182,574 units, representing a 46% year-on-year expansion.

Strategic investments in electrification continue to yield high returns; combined domestic and international EV sales nearly tripled to a record 14,800 units, marking a 183% YoY increase. Electric vehicles now represent one-third of all new customer bookings, underscoring Tata's consolidating leadership in the clean energy transition.

Tesla has inaugurated its 5th Experience Centre in Hyderabad’s technology corridor at HITEC City, Knowledge City, Madhapur. The new facility showcases both the Model Y and Model Y L, giving visitors the opportunity to explore the vehicles through expert-led demonstrations and interactive product experiences.

To enhance customer support in Telangana, Tesla has also started vehicle deliveries and after-sales operations from its Bollaram Industrial Area facility, ensuring a smooth and convenient ownership journey for buyers across the state.

Tata Motors is witnessing a steady decline in Sierra sales, with volumes falling for three straight months. The SUV sold 9,003 units in March 2026, followed by 7,316 units in April and 6,606 units in May.

Despite its attractive styling and premium appeal, the Tata Sierra remains behind segment leaders including the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Victoris. The declining trend has raised questions about the model’s competitiveness in the highly contested SUV market.
