When we arrived in Jaipur we headed straight to Amber Homestay to take part in an amazing cooking class of some traditional Indian food!

We had the option of what spiciness level we wanted to cook and despite being in the 'no spice' group, it still came out spicier than I can handle.

The family at Amber Homestay were all so lovely and hospitable, they really made the experience so incredible!

One of the most special moments from our trip with TruTravels was getting to take part in a traditional Hindu blessing ritual at Pushkar Lake ✨

Pushkar Lake is one of the holiest places in Hinduism, and while we were there a local priest performed a blessing for us by the water. It was such a peaceful and eye-opening experience, and a really meaningful way to learn more about the culture and spirituality of this place.

Travel moments like this are the ones that stay with you 💛

looking beyond the tending audios is what makes you see the beauty of a trip. from the quiet and serene moments, to the more chaotic experiences, we had it all in Pushkar, India!

We stayed at Camp Land's End in Pushkar and it was such a magical place, all our evening meals were home cooked by locals and we really got to step away from how hectic it had been elsewhere! We were so fortunate to be able to witness (and get involved in) a traditional dance performance by a local family.

Pushkar is truly magical and somewhere that should be on everyone’s India bucket list!

Have you ever been?

Walking through the stunning City Palace Udaipur felt like stepping straight into a royal dream.

From the intricate marble courtyards to the views over Lake Pichola, every corner of this palace is pure magic.

Easily one of the most beautiful places in Udaipur — and somewhere I could wander around for hours!

reasons why you should go on a sunset boat cruise on Lake Pichola:

1. gorgeous sunset
the sunset is a beautiful colour and when it starts going behind the hills the water reflects a golden-pink and is the best opportunity for photos

2. you can see iconic landmarks
on the cruise you see landmarks like City Palace, Jag Mandir andLake Palace

3. it’s super peaceful
while you’re on the water you feel so calm and peaceful

4. see udaipur from a different perspective
it’s not called the ‘city of lakes’ and ‘venice of the east’ for no reason

have you been to udaipur? ⬇️⬇️

this is your sign to get henna while you’re in udaipur…

📍Janak Arts, Udaipur

we visited the amazing Janak Arts and got to see so much talent! the miniature paintings that the artists paint are absolutely incredible! you can get miniature nail art done and even ‘crazy henna’!

all the henna was freestyle and they said that the design comes to them based on their vibes and personality! what an amazing compliment to receive when the designs come out so good!

definitely worth a visit if you are in udaipur!

would i recommend the sleeper train as a good way to get from delhi to udaipur? absolutely yes!

would i say that i had the best experience on the train? no i didn’t have the best experience!

here’s why…

1. we happened to be running behind schedule and got to the station around 5 minutes before the train departed which was so stressful

2. all the groups seats/beds were separated so we ended up in small groups away from each other

3. when the small group i was in got to our seats there were people in them who wouldn’t move and we had to get our guide to make them move

4. some men came up to us and were being weird and our guide had to get them to leave us alone

5. the people who were in our seats kept on whispering to each other, looking at us and laughing which made us feel super uncomfortable

6. we ended up moving seats so that there were 5 of us all together and it was all good and then we found out the other people in our group only had double bunk beds and curtains, whereas we had triple bunk beds and no curtains

7. once it was time to sleep it was just so uncomfortable in our section and a few of us got very little sleep

8. in the middle of the night we were woken by a man shining a torch in our faces and rummaging around by our bags, he decided he wanted the bed of one of the girls in our group, we had to call our guide out of bed to come and help

9. by the time it was morning and we reached udaipur i was absolutely exhausted and must have only got an hour or so worth of sleep across the whole 13 hour train ride

overall, despite so much happening in the span of 13 hours on the train that made it pretty challenging i think it was an experience that i’m glad i’ve had, now that i’ve done this train, i can do any sleeper train
