Sri Sathya Sai Global Mahila Conference concludes in Prasanthi Nilayam
The three-day Sri Sathya Sai Global Mahila Conference, held under the aegis of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations – India and Sri Sathya Sai Global Council, concluded this morning in Prasanthi Nilayam with a spiritually vibrant finale in the immediate Divine OmniPresence of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
The valedictory session was marked by an intellectual speech, an Oath Ceremony, a comprehensive presentation of the ‘Way Forward’, and the replay of a Divine Discourse by Bhagawan Himself, culminating in Bhajans and Mangala Arathi at the Sai Kulwant Hall.
The morning began with the resonant chanting of the Sri Rudram, followed by a grand procession of international and national delegates, showcasing the global unity of women devotees inspired by Bhagawan's message of service and self-realisation. Representatives from various countries and Indian states walked in harmony, symbolising the spiritual strength and solidarity of Nari Shakti across the world.
The Guest Speaker, Ms Saritha Iyer, Associate Professor in the Department of Business Administration, Ettumanoorappan College, Kottayam, Kerala, delivered a compelling address on the spiritual empowerment of women. She began by affirming that "women are already empowered", asserting that there is no need for external empowerment; rather, what is needed is inner awareness of their inherent Divine potential.
Quoting Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, who hailed woman as Shakti Swarupini—the embodiment of divine energy—Ms Iyer expounded on the profound significance of this identity. Through an evocative narrative, she illustrated the presence and power of Shakti using two simple yet powerful metaphors: a stone and a hibiscus flower. In both cases, she noted, the enduring vitality and capacity for transformation lies in the presence of Shakti. “Without Shakti,” she remarked, “no transformation is possible.”
Rooting her insights firmly in Sanathana Dharma, the speaker offered a dharmic lens on the concept of Shakti, presenting it as the foundational force of creation, sustenance, and spiritual evolution. Her talk resonated with clarity and conviction, calling upon the womenfolk to realise and manifest the sacred feminine power already residing within them.
Thereafter, Ms Kamala Pandya, National Education Coordinator, SSSSO – India, led the Oath Ceremony, with thousands of women solemnly repeating the pledge in unison. The collective voice of the participants reverberated across Sai Kulwant Hall, affirming their commitment to live by Bhagawan’s teachings and dedicate themselves to selfless service, spiritual discipline, and universal love.
A vital segment of the session followed in the form of ‘The Way Forward’, presented by Dr (Ms) Sasibala, National Service Coordinator, SSSSO – India. The presentation laid out a structured roadmap to translate the conference themes into concrete initiatives, focusing on diversified areas. The vision called for enhanced collaboration, grassroots engagement, and sustained dedication by Mahilas in all spheres of Seva.
Ms Rama Sampath from Mumbai ably served as the Master of Ceremonies, seamlessly weaving together the various segments of the session while eloquently highlighting the essence and significance of Nari Shakti throughout the proceedings. The true spiritual treat was yet to unfold — a salient, soul-stirring reminder in the form of Bhagawan’s Divine Discourse, replayed for the occasion. In the discourse, Bhagawan, quoting the unparalleled devotion of the Gopikas, and the great Bharatiya women of yore, Sita, Savitri, Dayamayanti, Chandramathi and the likes, lovingly urged women to recognise their innate Divinity, uphold Dharma, and be torchbearers of transformation in society through love, sacrifice, and self-confidence.
The proceedings concluded with soulful bhajans, culminating in the offering of Mangala Arathi, marking the grand finale of a historic spiritual confluence that brought together women from across the globe—united in service, love, and surrender at the Divine Lotus Feet of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
