സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് കാൻസർ പ്രതിരോധത്തിന് സുപ്രധാന നീക്കവുമായി ആരോഗ്യവകുപ്പ്. ഗർഭാശയഗള (സെർവിക്കൽ) കാൻസർ പ്രതിരോധത്തിനായി പ്ലസ് വൺ, പ്ലസ് ടു വിദ്യാർഥിനികൾക്ക് എച്ച്പിവി വാക്‌സിനേഷൻ ആരംഭിക്കുമെന്ന് ആരോഗ്യമന്ത്രി വീണാ ജോർജ് അറിയിച്ചു. ഒരാഴ്ചയ്ക്കകം ടെക്ന‌ിക്കൽ കമ്മിറ്റി യോഗം ചേർന്ന് വാക്സിൻ സംബന്ധിച്ച് അന്തിമ തീരുമാനമെടുക്കും. ആരോഗ്യമന്ത്രിയുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ ചേർന്ന ഉന്നതതല യോ ഗത്തിലാണ് തീരുമാനം.

സ്ത്രീകളെ ഏറ്റവും അധികം ബാധിക്കുന്ന കാൻസറുകളിലൊന്നാണ് ഗർഭാശയഗള കാൻസർ. 9 മുതൽ 14 വയസുവരെയാണ് എച്ച്‌പിവി വാക്‌സിൻ ഏറ്റവും ഫലപ്രദം. അതേസമയം 26 വയസുവരെ എച്ച്‌പിവി വാക്സ‌ിൻ നൽകാവുന്നതാണ്. വാക്സിൻ കൊണ്ട് പ്രതിരോധിക്കാൻ സാധിക്കുന്നതാണ് ഗർഭാശയഗള കാൻസർ. ഇത് മുന്നിൽ കണ്ടാണ് മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയുടെ നിർദേശാനുസരണം സംസ്ഥാനം സുപ്രധാന തീരുമാനം എടുത്തതെന്നും മന്ത്രി വ്യക്തമാക്കി.

ഗർഭാശയഗള കാൻസർ മുക്ത കേരളം എന്ന ലക്ഷ്യം കൈവരിക്കാനായി സംസ്ഥാനം വലിയ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളാണ് നടത്തി വരുന്നത്. എച്ച്പിവി വാക്‌സിനേഷൻ സംബന്ധിച്ച അവബോധ ക്യാമ്പയിനും സംഘടിപ്പിക്കും. ടെക്നിക്കൽ കമ്മിറ്റിയുടെ മാർഗനിർദേശമനുസരിച്ചായിരിക്കും അവബോധ സന്ദേശങ്ങൾ തയ്യാറാക്കുക. പ്ലസ് വൺ, പ്ലസ് ടു തലത്തിലെ കുട്ടികളായതിനാൽ സ്‌കൂൾ തലത്തിൽ പ്രത്യേക അവബോധം നൽകും. ഇതോടൊപ്പം രക്ഷകർത്താക്കൾക്കും അവബോധം നൽകുന്നതാണ്.

കാൻസർ പ്രതിരോധത്തിനായി ആരോഗ്യ വകുപ്പ് ശക്തമായ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളാണ് നടത്തി വരുന്നത്. കാൻസർ കെയർ ഗ്രിഡ് രൂപീകരിച്ച് രോഗനിർണയവും ചികിത്സയും ഏകോപിപ്പിച്ചു. കാൻസർ പ്രതിരോധത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി 'ആരോഗ്യം ആനന്ദം അകറ്റാം അർബുദം' ജനകീയ കാൻസർ പ്രതിരോധ ക്യാമ്പയിൻ ആരംഭിച്ചു. 17 ലക്ഷത്തിലധികം പേർ സ്ക്രീനിംഗ് നടത്തി. ക്യാമ്പയിൻ കൂടുതൽ ശക്തിപ്പെടുത്താൻ മന്ത്രി നിർദേശം നൽകി.

ആരോഗ്യ വകുപ്പ് അഡീഷണൽ ചീഫ് സെക്രട്ടറി, എൻഎച്ച്എം സ്റ്റേറ്റ് മിഷൻ ഡയറക്ടർ, എസ്എച്ച്എ എക്‌സിക്യൂട്ടീവ് ഡയറക്ടർ, ആരോഗ്യ വകുപ്പ് ഡയറക്ടർ, മെഡിക്കൽ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ വകുപ്പ് ഡയറക്ടർ, എംസിസി, സിസിആർസി ഡയറക്ടർമാർ, ആർസിസി ഗൈനക്കോളജി വിഭാഗം മേധാവി, ആരോഗ്യ വകുപ്പ് ഡെപ്യൂട്ടി ഡയറക്ടർമാർ, ആരോഗ്യ വകുപ്പിലെ മറ്റ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥർ എന്നിവർ യോഗത്തിൽ പങ്കെടുത്തു.
