हम से पूछो ग़ज़ल मांगती है कितना लहू,
सब समझते है धंधा बड़े आराम का है
- राहत

कठिन समय और कठिन तब हुआ जब हमारे दिलो पर दशकों से राज करने वाले शायर बड़ी शांती से हमसे विदा ले गए । वो सुखनवर जो खुद एक चलता फिरता विश्विद्यालय था, और जिसकी हर पंक्ति शोध करने लायक । कारवां की शायद ही कोई शाम रही हो जो बिना राहत साहब की पंक्ति के पूरी हुई हो ।

अपने उसी मकबूल शायर को याद करने के लिए हम आप सभी को कारवां के मंच पर आमंत्रित करते है । आइए अपनी ग़ज़लों, नज्मों, गीतों और कविताओं को इस मुल्क के सिकंदर शायर राहत इंदौरी के चरणों में अर्पित करते है ।

Dear homo sapiens, we have only this one planet, instead of caring for it as we do for own mother we have been careless and delusioned. The forest are being cut down recklessly in different parts of the world despite the fact that we are standing on the doors of 6th mass extinction. We are still not conscious about conserving what’s left of our environment.

One of the largest intact forest areas left in central India is Hasdeo Arand. It is also called as the “Lungs of Chhattisgarh”. 170000 hectares of dense forest area will be cleared off trees and as a result stripped off its biodiversity if we don’t raise our voices against the long impending mining project that now is being pushed for. We have to stop this threat from becoming a reality.

Not only is it dense forest, it is an important elephant corridor and has a huge hydrological impact on the region. Mass deforestation and mining operations would impact the flow of the Hasdeo river, one of most important sources of irrigation in the northern part of Chhattisgarh. Thus, lives and livelihoods of several people will be affected as a result.

It is home to forest-dwelling Adivasi communities, such as the Gonds, who are completely dependent on forest produce, and agriculture. The region is also highly biodiverse and ecologically fragile with dense Sal forests, rare plants, perennial water sources, and wildlife species.

How much coal does the country need? For mining, is it okay to destroy such a dense forest like Hasdeo? Are there not other alternatives? Do you really need to open 10–12 mines in Hasdeo, or is this to enrich some people and some corporates? And what will happen to the residing indigenous people and their livelihood?

It's time that we the people of Chhattisgarh stand with our forest our trees and our rights. Let's stand in Solidarity with Hasdeo!!

हम अकेले ही चले थे जानिब -ए - मंजिल मगर
लोग साथ आते गए, कारवां बनता गया ।।

ना जाने कितने महोत्सव, मंचो, कवियों, कविताओं, नगमो, और जज्बातों होते हुए कारवां ने आज 3 वसंत पूरे किए । ये क्षण नीव से जुड़े हुए लोगो को सेंट्रल लाइब्रेरी के बगीचे का वो लम्हा याद दिलाता है जब इस इस कविता यात्रा का शुभारंभ हुआ था । 50 से ज्यादा मंचो पर सैकड़ों नई कोपलों को मंच दे चुका कारवां तमाम छत्तीसगढ़ में अपनी अलग छाप छोड़ने और कविता को एक नए स्वरूप में आगे लाने में कारगर रहा है । इस अवसर पर हम कारवां से जुड़े बिछड़े तमाम लोगो का हम आभार व्यक्त करते है ।
