Government Primary School in Saji Bagla Mangota Awaits Completion Even After 12 Years

Students continue to study in rented building; locals appeal to DC Rajouri for immediate action

Avaz news rajouri

Thanamandi, Rajouri / July 27: Despite the passage of more than 12 years since the work began on the Government Primary School in Saji Bagla Mangota, Zone Thanamandi, the building remains incomplete. Shockingly, even the slab (roof) of the structure has not been laid till date, forcing students to continue their education in a rented accommodation.

The delay has drawn sharp criticism from locals and concerned citizens, who blame the Education Department for its inability to complete the basic infrastructure despite repeated appeals.

Notably, the land for the school was generously donated by Mohd Rashid Najjar, a local resident. However, not only is the building still unfinished, but the land donor has also not received any compensation from the authorities.

Parents and villagers have expressed concern over the lack of proper facilities and have questioned the accountability of the officials responsible. They pointed out that students studying in the rented premises face numerous challenges, including lack of space, poor ventilation, and safety issues.

The public has now made a strong appeal to Deputy Commissioner Rajouri to intervene in the matter and ensure that construction work is completed at the earliest, and compensation is provided to the land donor without further delay.

The residents warn that if swift action is not taken, they will be compelled to stage protests and bring the matter to higher authorities.

Gyan Ganga Math Radiates Devotion During Holy Shravan Month

Maha Shiv Abhisheks Performed at Rajouri and Lamberi with Spiritual Fervour

Avaz news rajouri

RAJOURI, JULY 27: In the sacred ambiance of the Shravan month, SVS Gyan Ganga Math in Rajouri has become a hub of devotion and spiritual energy as "Maha Shiv Abhishek" pujans were performed at the Shiv Mandir within the ashram on Sunday morning. The ceremonies were conducted under the divine guidance of His Holiness Atal Pithadhishwar Rajguru Acharya Mahamandleshwar Shri Shri 1008 Swami Vishwatmanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj, accompanied by a group of Acharyas and devotees from across the district and other parts of the country.

Swami Ji, during the spiritual proceedings, emphasized the profound message of surrender and guidance under Lord Shiva, stating, "There is no better teacher than Shiva to end the disorientation of life. Make Shiva your Guru for a happy life. Ask him your questions, seek his guidance for your problems, wishes, and divine help."

Following the Abhishek, a grand Bhandara was organized at the ashram where Prasad was served to hundreds of devotees, fostering a sense of community and devotion. Later in the afternoon, Swami Ji visited Shiv Mandir, Lamberi, where another Maha Shiv Abhishek was conducted with the same sanctity and rituals.

During the Abhishek, the sacred Shivling was ceremonially bathed with water, milk, ghee, curd, and honey—followed by offerings of Bilva leaves, believed to be essential for receiving Lord Shiva’s blessings. Devotees chanted powerful mantras like “Om Namah Shivaya” and the Maha Mrityunjaya mantra, invoking spiritual energy and divine protection.

It is noteworthy that daily evening Shiv Puja is being performed throughout the holy Shravan month at Gyan Ganga Math’s Shiv Kashi campus in Sunderbani. Devotees in large numbers continue to attend these sacred gatherings, deeply immersed in devotion.

Through his daily discourses, Swami Ji Maharaj is enlightening devotees about the spiritual significance of the Sawan month. He described Shivatva as a profound mystery, stating, “No one knows the true essence of Pinakdhari Shiva. Only he understands his divine element. That is why Shiva himself appears in corporeal form as Guru, to share and manifest his Shivatva.”

Swami Ji reiterated that the Guru who imparts the knowledge of Shiva is none other than a manifestation of Shiva himself. These spiritual discourses and pujas have not only deepened the devotion of the attendees but have also reaffirmed the eternal relevance of Lord Shiva as the ultimate guide and Guru.

"Power Outage in Barri Darhal: Locals Suffer for Four Days, Allegations of Negligence Against PDD

Avaz news rajouri

Rajouri, July 27 : Residents of Barri Darhal have been reeling under a power outage for the past four days due to a malfunctioning 100KV transformer. The prolonged electricity cut has created severe hardships, especially during the night, with locals raising serious concerns over the alleged negligence of the Power Development Department (PDD).

According to area residents, repeated complaints have been made to the concerned officials and on-ground staff, but the issue remains unresolved. "Despite several reminders, the department has failed to take any action. This kind of negligence can lead to a major accident at any time," said a local resident.

The community has urged the Grid Executive (GE) and the PDD to act immediately. They warned that if any untoward incident occurs due to the department’s inaction, the full responsibility will lie with the electricity department.

Locals have also appealed to the district administration to intervene and ensure the transformer is repaired without any further delay, in order to avoid any unfortunate incident.

Extensive preparations have been made by the district administration, security forces, and religious organizations to ensure a peaceful and smooth pilgrimage.

This year, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal have taken the reins of the Yatra arrangements, playing a central role in organizing logistics, food and water supply, medical aid, and security for the devotees.

An unmistakable aura of devotion has gripped the region. Temples have been cleaned and adorned, saffron flags flutter across the market areas, and elaborately decorated welcome gates have been set up to greet the yatris. The religious fervor is visible at every corner of the district, highlighting the local community’s emotional and spiritual connection with the annual event.

Multiple langar (community kitchen) and rest camps have been installed by VHP and Bajrang Dal throughout Rajouri, where pilgrims will be provided with evening meals, overnight accommodations, and basic medical care. Volunteers from both organizations have been tirelessly working for several days to streamline services along the Yatra route.

In light of the sensitivities involved, Rajouri administration has deployed a comprehensive security plan. Police, paramilitary forces, and army personnel have jointly set up surveillance systems, including high-definition CCTV cameras, drone monitoring, and checkpoints along critical points on the route. The aim is to ensure uninterrupted movement and the safety of all devotees.

Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma and SSP Randeep Kumar, in a joint statement, affirmed that every necessary measure has been put in place to ensure the Yatra proceeds peacefully. "Our priority is the security and convenience of the pilgrims. The administration remains on high alert," they stated.

The Baba Budha Amarnath Yatra is not only a sacred religious pilgrimage but also a celebration of the region’s cultural diversity and communal harmony. Devotees from different districts of Jammu and Kashmir converge for this spiritually enriching journey, reaffirming the unity in diversity that defines the region.

Tomorrow morning, the first batch of pilgrims will be accorded a ceremonial welcome at the Yatra Ground in Rajouri. The holy proceedings will be graced by Atal Peethadheeshwar Rajguru Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Shri Shri 1008 Swami Vishwatmanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj, who will formally inaugurate the Yatra. Devotees will be welcomed with the beat of traditional drums and festive chants by VHP and Bajrang Dal workers before proceeding to the Baba Budha Amarnath shrine in Mandi, Poonch.

While the region has witnessed a few sensitive incidents in recent times, they have done little to dent the collective spirit of the people. Security agencies remain vigilant, and public enthusiasm continues to soar, underscoring a shared determination to uphold tradition and peace.

As the sun rises tomorrow, the first steps of faith will echo through the mountains, reaffirming the timeless devotion and cultural strength of Jammu and Kashmir.

Horticulture Dept Ready to Empower Farmers from Seed to Market: Director Gul Saeed

*irst Visit to Sunderbani, Director Inspects Vermicompost Unit of Youth Farmer; Emphasizes Organic Farming, Fencing Support via JKSIP Portal

Avaz news rajouri

Rajouri, July 27 : In a significant outreach initiative, Director Horticulture Jammu, Gul Saeed, made his first official visit to Sunderbani after assuming charge. The visit marked a strong commitment by the department to support farmers from "seed to market" and promote organic farming across the region.

The Director, accompanied by Chief Horticulture Officer Rajouri Sushil Angurana, Horticulture Officer Sunderbani Arun Sharma, District Horticulture Officer Shafqat Khan and other officials, inspected the orchard and commercial vermicompost unit set up by young and innovative farmer Acharya Rajesh Parashar at Moda Nadhani, Panchayat Upper Bhajwal – the first village bordering Sunderbani.

The inspection drew participation from several notable local personalities, including former Sarpanch Yashpal Sharma, wrestler Jogendra Singh Chimb, Sunderbani Vyapar Mandal President Sangeet Sharma (Pomu), Growth Multipurpose Cooperative Society President Acharya Rajesh Parashar, Secretary Dr. Ajay Parashar, and a host of farmers and cooperative board members who welcomed Director Saeed with floral tributes.

Local farmers, while interacting with the Director, raised grave concerns over damage to crops by wild animals—particularly monkeys—due to proximity to forested areas. Responding promptly, Director Saeed assured them that the J&K SIP (Special Intervention Program) portal is now active, and farmers can apply through the District Horticulture Officer to avail fencing facilities on a subsidy basis to safeguard their produce.

“We are committed to helping our farmers every step of the way—from seeds to the marketplace. The doors of the Horticulture Department are open 24x7,” said Director Saeed while addressing the gathering. He further announced exposure visits for local farmers to advanced horticulture units across the region, enabling them to learn and adopt modern cultivation practices.

The Director was particularly impressed by the efforts of young farmer Rajesh Parashar, who has developed a model orchard of Galgal, Lemon, Bikaneri citrus, and Moringa, alongside a commercial vermicompost unit. Saeed engaged in a detailed conversation with him regarding the production process and benefits of organic inputs like Vermiwash, Jeevamrit, and Vermicompost.

“Farmers must shift towards organic practices to ensure soil health and reduce dependency on chemicals,” said the Director while speaking to the media, emphasizing that the future lies in eco-friendly farming techniques.

The visit concluded on a high note with optimism among local farmers, who saw in Director Saeed’s outreach a new wave of institutional support and innovation-led growth for the horticulture sector in Rajouri and adjoining regions.
