The XK six-cylinder combustion engine debuted 75 years ago with the launch of the Jaguar XK120 prototype, a vehicle that later became known as the ‘fastest production car in the world’. A title that drove desire and prompted mass demand, particularly from the USA.
The XK badge adorned the sweeping lines of several models up until the launch of the inimitable Jaguar E-type, otherwise known as the XKE.
The contribution of the XK insignia and the engineering it represents cannot be overlooked, which is why we have various iconic vehicles from Jaguar’s history – all powered by the six-cylinder engine – taking part in daily circuit parades and races at Goodwood Revival.
Jaguar’s own revival as an all-electric brand will channel the spirit of the early XK era, set apart by their fearless and progressive exuberance.
