ગુજરાતના ગોંડલ તાલુકાના જામવાડી ગામમાં રહેતા 70 વર્ષના ચંદુ બાપુ અને તેમની પત્ની જયશ્રી છેલ્લા 18 વર્ષથી દરરોજ 300થી વધુ ભૂખ્યા, અનાથ અને વૃદ્ધ લોકોને તાજું અને પૌષ્ટિક ભોજન પીરસે છે. તેઓની સંસ્થા, ઓશો વિશાળ અન્નક્ષેત્ર ટ્રસ્ટ, આ કાર્ય દ્વારા અસહાય લોકો માટે આશાની કિરણ બની છે.
ચંદુ બાપુએ તેમના પુત્રના દુઃખદ અવસાન પછી જીવનનું સાચું અર્થ સમજ્યું અને સમાજની સેવા માટે પોતાનું જીવન સમર્પિત કર્યું. દરરોજ સવારે તેઓ તાજું ભોજન તૈયાર કરે છે અને તેને વાન દ્વારા જરૂરિયાતમંદો સુધી પહોંચાડે છે. તેઓના રસોડામાં બનેલું ખીચડી, કઢી, શાક અને રોટલી અનેક લોકો માટે આશાનો સ્ત્રોત છે.
