स्वर्गीय सोमराज बाली जी वर्षों से राजौरी में अखबार वितरण से जुड़े रहे और अपने सरल स्वभाव व मेहनत के लिए जाने जाते थे।

उनका अंतिम संस्कार **कल प्रातः 10:00 बजे** **राजौरी श्मशान घाट** में किया जाएगा।

ईश्वर दिवंगत आत्मा को अपने श्रीचरणों में स्थान दें तथा शोकाकुल परिवार को इस अपार दुःख को सहन करने की शक्ति प्रदान करें।

A HISTORIC AND PROUD MOMENT FOR RAJOURI l BHAIRAV DEV JHANKI INCLUDED IN THE NATIONAL INVENTORY OF INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE OF INDIA

As President of the Bhairo Committee Rajouri, Jammu & Kashmir, I am immensely proud to announce a monumental milestone for Jammu & Kashmir: our historic Bhairav Dev Jhanki, the sacred centrepiece of our weeks-long Holi festival every year, has been officially included in the National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage of India. This national recognition is a historic step in the representation and preservation of our district's rich cultural and spiritual legacy. I extend my deepest gratitude to Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Shri Abhishek Sharma, and Secretary of the Cultural Department, Shri Brij Mohan Sharma, for their instrumental support in elevating our heritage to the national stage. Most importantly, I offer my most heartfelt thanks to the dedicated members of the Bhairo Committee, the local residents of Rajouri town—including our elders, youth, brothers, and sisters—and supporters across India, whose unwavering devotion and collective effort have kept this vibrant tradition alive for generations.

राजौरी, 14 जुलाई:

राजौरी जिले की सदियों पुरानी और पवित्र **भैरव यात्रा** को भारत की **राष्ट्रीय अमूर्त सांस्कृतिक विरासत सूची** में शामिल किया गया है। यह उपलब्धि जिले की सांस्कृतिक, धार्मिक और आध्यात्मिक विरासत के संरक्षण तथा प्रचार-प्रसार की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम मानी जा रही है।

भैरव यात्रा को राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर पहचान दिलाने का प्रस्ताव जिला प्रशासन राजौरी द्वारा उपायुक्त **अभिषेक शर्मा** के नेतृत्व में तैयार, दस्तावेजीकृत और प्रस्तुत किया गया था। इसका उद्देश्य इस प्राचीन परंपरा के ऐतिहासिक महत्व को संरक्षित करने के साथ-साथ इसे राष्ट्रीय मंच पर पहचान दिलाना था।

इस प्रस्ताव को जम्मू-कश्मीर के संस्कृति विभाग के समक्ष आगे बढ़ाया गया। संस्कृति विभाग के सचिव **बृज मोहन शर्मा** के मार्गदर्शन, सहयोग और संबंधित संस्थानों के साथ समन्वय के बाद प्रस्ताव को राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर विचार के लिए प्रस्तुत किया गया।

भारत की राष्ट्रीय अमूर्त सांस्कृतिक विरासत सूची को अपडेट करने के लिए गठित अस्थायी समिति द्वारा प्रस्ताव के मूल्यांकन और सिफारिशों के बाद भैरव यात्रा को सूची में शामिल करने की मंजूरी दी गई।

यह मान्यता भैरव यात्रा के सांस्कृतिक, धार्मिक और सामाजिक महत्व को रेखांकित करती है। साथ ही यह उन पीढ़ियों के श्रद्धालुओं, स्थानीय समुदायों और सांस्कृतिक कार्यकर्ताओं के प्रयासों का भी सम्मान है, जिन्होंने इस परंपरा को वर्षों से जीवित रखा है।

उपायुक्त अभिषेक शर्मा ने इसे राजौरी जिले के लिए ऐतिहासिक और गौरवपूर्ण उपलब्धि बताया। उन्होंने कहा कि भैरव यात्रा को राष्ट्रीय अमूर्त सांस्कृतिक विरासत सूची में शामिल किया जाना उन पीढ़ियों के श्रद्धालुओं और समुदायों को समर्पित सम्मान है, जिन्होंने इस परंपरा को लगातार संरक्षित किया।

उन्होंने कहा कि इस मान्यता से राजौरी की सांस्कृतिक पहचान को राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर नई पहचान और व्यापक दृश्यता मिलेगी। जिला प्रशासन जिले की बहुमूल्य सांस्कृतिक विरासत के व्यवस्थित दस्तावेजीकरण, संरक्षण और प्रचार के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है।

Rajouri’s Historic Bhairav Yatra Included in India’s National Intangible Cultural Heritage Inventory

RAJOURI, JULY 14: In a landmark achievement for Rajouri district, the centuries-old **Bhairav Yatra** has been included in the **National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage of India**, giving national recognition to one of the region’s most revered spiritual and cultural traditions.

The proposal seeking recognition for the historic Yatra was conceptualised, documented and submitted by the District Administration Rajouri under the leadership of **Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma**.

The initiative was undertaken to preserve the Yatra’s cultural legacy, document its historical importance and provide wider recognition to a tradition deeply connected with the religious faith and identity of the people of Rajouri.

The proposal was subsequently pursued with the **Department of Culture, Jammu and Kashmir**, with guidance and support from **Secretary Culture Department Brij Mohan Sharma**. His coordination with the institutions concerned played an important role in facilitating the proposal’s consideration at the national level.

Following a detailed evaluation and recommendations by the Provisional Committee constituted for updating the National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage of India, the Bhairav Yatra was approved for inclusion.

The recognition highlights the spiritual, cultural and social importance of the Yatra, while also acknowledging the contribution of generations of devotees, local communities and cultural practitioners who have kept the tradition alive.

Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma described the development as a proud and historic achievement for Rajouri. He said the national recognition was a tribute to generations of devotees and communities who had preserved the sacred tradition over the centuries.

He said the inclusion would provide national visibility to an integral part of Rajouri’s cultural identity and reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to documenting, safeguarding and promoting the district’s invaluable cultural heritage.

The Deputy Commissioner also expressed gratitude to Secretary Culture Department Brij Mohan Sharma for his guidance and coordination. He appreciated the contribution of the Bhairav Yatra Committee, devotees, researchers, officials, cultural practitioners and all other stakeholders involved in preserving and documenting the historic Yatra.
