*DC inspects healthcare services at GMC Rajouri*

RAJOURI, OCTOBER 29: Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma today conducted a surprise visit to Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri to take firsthand stock of the healthcare services.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected wards and interacted with patients and attendants to assess the quality of healthcare being provided by the hospital management. He enquired about the availability of medicines, cleanliness, and overall patient satisfaction.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the hospital administration to ensure timely redressal of patient grievances and to maintain the highest standards of hygiene and service delivery in all sections of the hospital.

He also directed regular monitoring of essential services and immediate rectification of any shortcomings to ensure uninterrupted and quality healthcare for all. The visit was conducted in response to a few complaints surfacing on social media.

*District Police Rajouri organized debates, seminars and symposiums on the life, vision and contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, highlighting the role of youth in nation-building and promoting National Integration.*

Rajouri, October 29:
As part of the ongoing celebrations marking the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, District Police Rajouri organized debates, seminars and symposiums at different locations of District Rajouri on the theme “Life, Vision and contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel” highlighting the role of youth in nation-building and promoting National Integration.

The event was coordinated by the officers and officials of District Rajouri and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers and members of the general public who eloquently highlighted the life, achievements and contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in unifying the nation and strengthening civil services.

The programmes concluded with an appeal to uphold the values of harmony, equality and national integration as envisioned by the Iron Man of India.

*DC Abhishek Sharma flags off tour outside J&K*

RAJOURI, OCTOBER 27: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma today flagged off a group of progressive farmers on a Training-cum-Exposure visit outside Jammu and Kashmir. The tour has been organized by the Department of Horticulture.

The exposure tour, scheduled from October 27 to November 1, 2025, aims to enhance the technical know-how and practical understanding of the participating farmers regarding modern horticultural practices, value addition, and post-harvest management techniques being adopted in other states.

The tour, consisting of 11 progressive farmers and two officials, is being conducted under the supervision of the Chief Horticulture Officer.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma emphasised the importance of such exposure visits in transforming the agricultural and horticultural landscape of the district.

*DC Rajouri reviews implementation of health programmes; stresses on quality service delivery and outreach activities*

RAJOURI, OCTOBER 27: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, today chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the implementation and progress of various health programmes being executed across the district.

The meeting witnessed detailed discussions on maternal and child health, Home Based Newborn Care (HBNC), Home Based Young Child Care (HBYC), and Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK). The Deputy Commissioner directed field teams to ensure regular visits to homes, schools, and Anganwadi Centres to strengthen grassroots-level health interventions.

*Taking serious note of institutional deliveries, the DC directed the Health Department to promote institutional deliveries at Kalakote and Darhal by rationalising anaesthesia and gynaecology specialists to cater to local needs.* He also reviewed the status of Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakaram (JSSK) and Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) and emphasized prompt and transparent service delivery to all eligible beneficiaries.

*The DC further directed the department to ensure provision of free diet and transport services under JSSK across all health institutions of the district to facilitate better maternal and child care outcomes.*

Other key parameters reviewed included s*x ratio at birth, family planning services, child immunization, adolescent health, inpatient and diagnostic services, Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) screening, cataract surgeries, Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) performance, and the functioning of Block Public Health Units (BPHUs) in the district.

*The DC directed the department to ensure 100% screening of the vulnerable population so that TB can be eradicated. He further instructed to organize regular training sessions for ASHA workers, obtain feedback from them, and felicitate top-performing ASHAs who have received the highest incentives as a motivation for others.*

*Highlighting the importance of community participation, the DC asked the department to engage nursing college students as ‘Adi Sahyogis’ in tribal villages to support awareness generation and service delivery in far-flung areas.*

*Reviewing telemedicine facilities at Badhaal, Dhar Sakri, and Bagla, the Deputy Commissioner directed officials to enhance digital consultation access for the rural population to bridge the healthcare gap*. He also instructed the RBSK teams to scale up their performance and organize visual and audio impairment screening camps, ensuring line-listing of identified individuals for follow-up and necessary medical interventions.

*While reviewing the functioning of Primary Health Centres (PHCs), the DC stressed the need to improve infrastructure, optimize manpower utilization, and enhance service quality to ensure better patient care and satisfaction.*

Among those present in the meeting were Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Rajouri, Dr. Manohar Lal Rana, District Tuberculosis Officer, Block Medical Officers, Block Programme Management Units, Block ASHA Coordinators, DEIC Manager, District Programme Coordinators of NTEP and PMJAY, and other officers of the Health Department.
