*RAJOURI POLICE FOILS BOVINE SMUGGLING BID; TWO ARRESTED 10 BOVINE ANIMALS RESCUED*

In a Strong Action against bovine smuggling, Rajouri Police foiled a bovine smuggling attempt during routine naka checking at Khalsa Chowk rajouri.

A police team from Police Station Rajouri intercepted two vehicles—bearing registration numbers *JK11B 9450 driven by Mohd Hafiez S/O Mohd Hanif R/O Ari Mendhar and JK11F 5651 driven by Mohd Irfan S/O Mohd Rafiq R/O Kangota Khawas Rajouri.*

During Checking , total of 10 bovine animals were found being transported without any valid permission or documentation. The animals were loaded in a highly cruel manner.

Both accused were arrested on the spot and the vehicles used in the commission of the offense have been seized. In this regard two separate FIRs—No. 360/2025 and 361/2025 have been registered under relevant sections of law at Police Station Rajouri. Further investigation is underway.

*DDC Rajouri reviews PMAY-Urban 2.0 progress; 14 cases approved*

RAJOURI, JULY 18: A meeting of the District Level Committee (DLC) on the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Urban (PMAY-U) 2.0 was held in the VC Room of DC Office Complex today to review the status and the implementation of the housing scheme for urban poor.

The meeting was chaired by District Development Commissioner Abhishek Sharma.

At the outset, the meeting reviewed the status of applications received on the Unified Web Portal and assessed the verification and validation progress of the same by the respective Urban Local Bodies (ULBs).

The meeting was attended by Committee members including Assistant Commissioner Revenue Mohammad Jhangir Khan; District Social Welfare Officer Abdul Raheem; Lead Bank Manager; Senior Manager, Housing Units of J&K Housing Board (Member Secretary); Executive Officer Municipal Council Rajouri, Executive Officers from the Municipal Committees of Nowshera, Sunderbani, Kalakote and Thannamandi.

After a detailed discussion and review, the Committee approved 14 petitions seeking assistance under PMAY-U 2.0.

The District Development Commissioner emphasised the importance of timely validation of pending applications and instructed all Executive Officers to expedite the process to provide immediate benefit to urban poor.

He further highlighted the government's commitment to providing Housing to all homeless and reiterated the need for close coordination among departments to ensure transparent and efficient implementation of the scheme in the district.

RAJOURI, JULY 14: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma alongside Senior Superintendent of Police Gaurav Sikarwar today reviewed the arrangements for the celebration of Independence Day 2025 at a meeting held here in the Dak Bungalow.

The Deputy Commissioner laid emphasis on making elaborate and coordinated preparations for the smooth conduct of the national function. He directed for proper stage arrangements, systematic seating for invitees and the public, appropriate length and content of cultural programs, and timely installation of a reliable Public Address (PA) system.

The DC emphasized that contingents from across the district will participate in the ceremonial March Past to reflect inclusiveness and discipline. The DC also directed the concerned departments to ensure illumination of prominent government buildings, bridges, and key installations in the district as a mark of celebration. He further suggested that stalls and displays highlighting the achievements and developmental milestones of the district be set up at the venue to showcase progress under various government schemes.

DC directed ADCs and SDMs to monitor and ensure celebration in all Government institutions within their jurisdictions.

SSP Gaurav Sikarwar elaborated the security arrangements. He emphasized the need for meticulous planning to ensure foolproof security and smooth movement of participants and visitors. He stressed on enhancing surveillance and increasing deployment at vulnerable points to ensure peaceful conduct of the celebrations. He also underscored the need for coordination among the security agencies to maintain law and order.

The Deputy Commissioner urged all departments to work in a coordinated manner and finalize all arrangements well before time to ensure a grand and smooth celebration of Independence Day 2025

*RAJOURI POLICE CRACKED THEFT CASE : 120 GRAMS GOLD, 530 GRAMS SILVER RECOVERED; SIX INTER-STATE THIEVES ARRESTED*

Police Station Nowshera has successfully cracked a major theft case within 72 hours leading to the recovery of 120 grams of gold (worth approx ₹12 lakh) and 530 grams of silver ornaments (worth approx ₹65,000).

The case was registered on written complaint regarding the theft of gold ornaments from a jewellery shop in Nowshera. Accordingly FIR No. 90/2025 was registered under Sections 305(A), 331(3) BNS. Acting swiftly, special investigation teams were constituted under senior officers and a swift investigation using technical surveillance and human intelligence led to the arrest of six inter-state thieves identified as:
1. *Jaswant Singh S/O Jagmohan*
2. *Raj Kumar S/O Chanda Ram*
3. *Gagan Kumar S/O Shora Ram*
4. *Ritu W/O Jaswant Singh (All R/O Fatehabad, Haryana)*
5. *Seema Rani D/O Pappu (R/O Bathinda, Punjab)*
6. *Poonam W/O Ram Partap (R/O Rajasthan)*
The accused are part of an inter-state gang operating across Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan. Further investigation is underway to identify their involvement in other Criminal Cases.

*DDC Rajouri reviews progress RDD works, stresses transparency and timely ex*****on*

RAJOURI, JULY 10: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, today chaired a comprehensive meeting in the VC Room of the DC Office Complex to review the physical and financial progress of works being executed by the RDD

The meeting focused on key performance indicators under flagship schemes such as MGNREGA and PMAY. The DDC took a detailed review of the status of physical verification, geo-tagging of assets, timely wage payments under MGNREGA, and the total number of person-days generated till date. He also assessed the construction of check dams across various blocks to enhance water conservation and livelihood opportunities.

While reviewing the PMAY, the DDC expressed concern over delays by some beneficiaries and directed the concerned officers to initiate recovery of installments from individuals who have failed to commence construction despite receiving funds.

The DDC emphasized the need to expedite the generation of person-days under MGNREGA and ensure timely completion of all sanctioned works. He reiterated the importance of transparency, adherence to scheme guidelines and doorstep delivery of services to the public.

"Officers must ensure that every rupee spent reaches the intended beneficiary and that all works are executed as per the prescribed norms. There should be no compromise on quality or accountability," he said.

The meeting was attended by CPO Maqsood Ahmed, ACP, Sheraz Chouhan, ACD Auqil Naveed, DSEO, Sandeep Sharma and Block Development Officers of the district.

*Rajouri Police Booked Notorious Drug Peddler Under PITNDPS Act*

In strong action against drug trafficking Rajouri Police today detained a Notorious drug Peddler under PITNDPS Act.

The accused identified as *Mohd Arif S/O Mohd Raqib and a resident of ward No. 04 Malik Market Rajouri* has been involved in multiple cases of drug peddling. Taking cognizance of his continuous involvement in such illegal activities the competent authority issued detention orders under the PITNDPS Act following which he has been lodged in Jammu Jail.

This action is part of Rajouri Police ongoing crackdown on drug Smuggling to curb the spread of narcotics and safeguard the youth of Rajouri from the effects of drug abuse.

*Rajouri Police Cracks Theft Case, Three Arrested; Stolen Property Recovered*

On 25.06.2025 two written complaints were lodged at Police Station Rajouri regarding two separate theft cases:- one at Jawahar Nagar and other at Malik Market Rajouri. In this regard two separate FIRs, FIR No. 330/2025 and 338/2025 were registered at PS Rajouri.
During investigation 03 suspects:

*1. Zaheer Abbas S/O Mohd Latief R/O Dugani Chingus*

*2. Mohd Nadeem S/O Mohd Kabir Khan R/O Saaj Thannamandi*

*3. Mohd Altaf S/O Mohd Rashid R/O Manote Surankote Poonch* were rounded up and during sustained Questioning all these three Accused admitted to their involvement in both these cases and on their disclosure, stolen Property has been recovered.
Pertinent to mention that all these accused persons are notorious persons and multiple cases related to theft stand registered against them.

The entire operation was conducted by teams headed by SHO PS Rajouri under the close supervision of DySP Hqrs Rajouri. Police’s prompt action and professional investigation reflect its commitment to safeguarding public property and ensuring justice.
