LoP Sunil Sharma visits cloudburst-hit Rajgarh in Ramban district, meets bereaved families and assures full support

In the aftermath of the tragic cloudburst that struck Rajgarh in Ramban district on August 30, claiming five lives and leaving several families devastated, the Leader of the Opposition (LoP), Sunil Sharma, visited the affected area to express solidarity with the victims and assess ongoing relief efforts.

The cloudburst had resulted in sudden flash floods and mudslides, causing extensive damage to homes, farmlands, and infrastructure. The natural calamity has left the local community in mourning and in urgent need of support.

During his visit, Sharma met with the bereaved families, offered heartfelt condolences, and assured them of every possible kind of assistance to help them recover from the tragedy.
"We stand firmly with every family affected by this disaster", he said, stressing that the government must ensure swift and adequate relief, and assured that he will personally follow up to see that promises are fulfilled, he stated.

He was accompanied by senior district administration officials, police officers, and local BJP leaders, who briefed him on the current status of rescue, relief, and rehabilitation operations.
Sunil Sharma urged authorities to expedite compensation for the victims and ensure timely rehabilitation for displaced families.

He also interacted with local residents and social workers, political leaders, listening to their grievances and suggestions regarding the restoration of basic services like water, electricity, road connectivity, and education infrastructure disrupted by the disaster.

Highlighting the need for better preparedness in vulnerable hilly regions, Sharma stressed the importance of installing early warning systems and strengthening disaster response mechanisms to prevent such losses in the future. "Strict and Appropriate Action must be taken against Dy SP (Prob) for beating VDG in Doda" : Arun Prabhat.

Arun Prabhat, State President BJYM,Jammu Kashmir, strongly condemned the brutal beating of a VDG by Dy SP (prob) Afeer Jaleel Khan at Prem Nagar, Doda.
An unfortunate incident has happened in doda in which a VDG member has beaten badly as he fired two rounds upon seen a potential terrorist activity at Pernote in Doda.
Next day he was summoned by probationary Dy SP Afeer Jaleel Khan and instead of encouraging him, the officer has beaten the brave VDG member inflicting serious injuries.
This henious act will demoralize the brave nationalist forces who are fighting with the terrorsim in the region since decades. An inquiry committee has already been initiated by higher police officials but merely initiating inquiry will not be fair enough.

Village Defence Guards have remained a firm and commited cadre to fight and eliminate the terrorism without being received any fixed remuneration for their unprecedented services.
Such incidents have sent shockwaves across the region, with locals expressing deep anguish and anger. This is unlawful, unacceptable act and has no place in a civilized society.
Prabhat appealed to the Honble LG Sh Manoj Sinha and worthy DGP Sh Nalin Prabhat to kindly intervene and terminate such officers who are trying to malign the image of the police and demoralising the patritoic forces in the region.
