Loop Lapeta: all it takes is a day!
Watch on Netflix
Rating 3/5
"Iski Jaan ka Loop Lapeta", A comedy thriller starring Taapsee Pannu and Tahir Raj Bhasin was released in early February this year. This film has a different style of conveying the story, though it's an official adaptation of the award winning German film Run Lola Run, it's a good take to attempt such styling in the bollywood.
The story is set in Goa and brings in all basic elements that gives you a rustic feeling of staying in Goan colony without being stereotyped. The entire screenplay, colours and under brilliant direction by Aakash Bhatia this film perfectly fits in the weekend charts of Netflix.
The story starts and revolves around Savi and Satya, the two main leads of the story, but characters like Victor, Julia, Appu and Gappu can't be ignored. The balance on screen with a correct amount of comic timing helps you keep in loop with the film. Though the start of the film is very difficult to get, film gradually gains it's momentum and you might just stay, because you want to.
The film starts with Savi planning a su***de on the terrace of the hospital she's been admitted and then comes Satya coincidentally. They both live together and uncertainty also makes a room to stay.
Satya is pretty hopeful and optimistic in all his juggling, casino games while Savi asks him to switch on to some stable life.
Things goes on and off hand but they still help each other, quoting, "all it takes is a day"
It's about a bag that Victor gives Satya as a task and like of course, Satya fails to keep it safe. He calls up Savi, and tries to save Satya.
The loop here, is Savi gets three chances to fix this problem though it's not practically possible. Such trials might make you feel stuck and your curiosity might deny to carry on.
Well apart from all the technical aspects, Loop Lapeta starts slow and can gradually grip on your attention. For some the comic timing might work, but most of the time it goes flat. Apart from the basic cinema work, Loop Lapeta gives you a creative platter of digital comic art that adds fun to the story.
The humor was more of a cinematography and editing thing than the script. The songs are situational and had been written in almost the best way possible.
The joint effort of Nariman Khambata, Sidhant Mango, and Shantanu Ghatak present you a different style of music and lyrics that goes well with film. I have absolutely no idea how the album will work in people's Playlist.
The film is written by Dr. Vinay Chhawal
Ketan Pedgaonkar, Aakash Bhatia,
Arnav Vepa Nanduri which stays with a running time of 131 minutes on screen.
Dialouges fit in the best way in all the scenes and by the end of the film you can even pretend they're call!
You may find this film interesting on the creative front, but again this can only survive as a one time watch.
