Obscura is the Media Club of XISS Ranchi, an initiative taken by the students to keep people updated with the affairs & activities of XISS.

Obscura is the Official Media Club of XISS. It was established in 2015 by a group of like-minded students who came together for an initiative meant for the betterment of the institution. It is a student-managed club which functions beyond the boundaries of departments and covers all the XISS related happenings. Obscura aims to connect XISS and functions as a bridge to all its stakeholders, namely students- both current and prospective, valuable alumni, corporates, media houses, etc.

XISS, Ranchi welcomed the PGDM Batch of 2025–27 through an inspiring 8-day Orientation-cum-Induction Programme. From motivational words by dignitaries and alumni insights to sessions on values, wellness, sustainability, and student life, every moment set the tone for a holistic academic journey.

The programme highlighted XISS’s commitment to building ethical, industry-ready professionals empowered with knowledge, compassion, and purpose.

XISS Ranchi celebrated International Yoga Day 2025 with a shared focus on mindfulness, movement, and meaning. Everyone participated in a peaceful yoga session led by certified trainer Rahul Poddar.
The event also featured powerful addresses by the dignitaries that highlighted the deeper meaning of yoga, focusing on balance, discipline, and the connection between mind, body, and soul.
This year’s theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” reminded everyone of the need to care for both ourselves and the world around us.

XISS, Ranchi, marked its 64th Annual Convocation Ceremony on May 3, 2025, graced by Chief Guest, Ms, Shilpi Neha Tirkey, Hon’ble Minister, Government of Jharkhand, and Guest of Honour Mr Guilherme Vaz, International Development Consultant. The ceremony celebrated the achievements of 310 graduates, with an emphasis on responsible and value-based leadership for societal transformation.

Degrees were awarded across the , , , and programmes. The event also honoured top rank holders with medals and cash prizes, while institutional scholarships were awarded to deserving students.

Mr Ashok Kumar Singh, alumnus of the 1979-81 Rural Development batch, was conferred the "Distinguished Alumni Award" for his exemplary leadership.

As the graduates step forward, they carry with them the mission of XISS- to lead with compassion, competence, and confidence.
